The beach was already alive by the time Taehyung and his family arrived.

Cars were parked at uneven angles along the sandy lot, doors slamming shut as laughter echoed through the salty air. Everyone had arrived separately, but it didn’t take long before blankets, coolers, umbrellas, and beach bags all blended into one large family setup near the shoreline.

Taehyung’s mom began unfolding one of the umbrellas.

“Taehyung,” she called out sharply, already pointing at him, “you better put sunscreen on Avian before doing anything else.” She said rather strictly.

“Yes, mom,” he replied obediently.

He lowered himself onto a beach towel and called out, “Avian, come here, baby.”

Avian, who had been deeply focused on digging up seashells with his tiny shovel, looked up & then immediately toddled over, sand clinging to his little legs.

Taehyung smiled softly. “Are you hot?”

Avian nodded, cheeks puffing out as he answered in the tiniest voice, “Yeah..”

Taehyung chuckled, heart melting at his cuteness. He gently pulled Avian’s long sleeve swim shirt over his head, leaving him in his tiny swim trunks, and reached for the sunscreen.

As soon as the cool lotion touched his skin, Avian started squirming.

“Nooo,” he whined, frowning.

“Hold still, baby,” Taehyung said patiently, rubbing sunscreen along his arms and shoulders.

From behind them, his mom chimed in, “Avian, if you don’t put on sunscreen, you’re not going to play in the sand.” She warned.

Avian froze, eyes wide.

Taehyung leaned closer. “Let me finish putting it on you, okay? I don’t want you getting sunburned.”

After a few more sniffles, Avian finally relaxed. Once Taehyung was done, he kissed the top of his son’s head.

“Okay,” he smiled. “You can go play now.”

Avian immediately bolted back toward the sand.

Taehyung’s girl cousins were already out in the water surfing, swimming, laughing as waves crashed around them. Meanwhile, Taehyung found himself roped into an intense volleyball match with his guy cousins: Namjoon, Yoongi, Hobi, Jin, Jimin, and Jungkook.

His is nieces and nephews were nearby, sitting in a messy circle as they built sandcastles and argued over whose tower was tallest.

Hours passed under the sun.

Eventually, Taehyung made his way back toward the umbrellas, sweat clinging to his skin. His mom was stretched out on a lounge chair, sunglasses perched on her nose as she read a magazine.

Right beside her, Avian was fast asleep, curled up on a towel.

Taehyung smiled.

He grabbed a cold water from the cooler, twisting the cap off and taking a long drink before sitting on the edge of the lounge chair.

“When did he fall asleep?” he asked quietly.

“About half an hour ago,” his mom replied, finally looking up at him.

She gasped lightly.

“Look at you! You got so tan already. Did you not put on sunscreen?”

He laughed. “I did. I just tan easily.”

Jimin walked up bending down over sleeping Avian gently petting his hair fondly.

“Tae, are you gonna come with?” he asked.

“Oh, uh… I don’t know,” Taehyung replied.

His mom lowered her magazine. “Where are you troublemakers sneaking off to?”

“We’re going to the bar downtown,” Jimin answered honestly.

She waved her hand dismissively. “Oh, honey, go with them.”

Taehyung hesitated. “What about Avian?”

“I’ll take him back with me,” she said warmly. “Don’t worry. Go have fun.”

“Thanks, Auntie,” Jimin grinned.

“See, Tae?” Jimin nudged him. “Your little one’s all taken care of. C’mon bro.”

Taehyung smiled. “Thanks, mom.”

He leaned down, kissed Avian’s cheek softly being gentle not to wake him up, then followed Jimin toward the others.

The sun was already setting as they walked downtown together.

The bar was lively, music thumping, lights glowing warm against the night. Drinks were ordered, conversations overlapping, laughter filling the space.

Jungkook quickly hit it off with a girl, who then introduced her entire friend group to the guys.

One of the girls leaned toward Jimin.

“Hook me up with him,” she whispered,

nodding toward Taehyung.

Jimin smirked and didn’t waste time.

“Taehyung,” he said, pulling him over, “this is Channi.”

She smiled nervously. “Hi! I’m Channi, nice to meet you!.”

“Taehyung,” he replied, smiling back.

“Well,” she said, tucking her hair behind her ear, “I thought you were kinda cute, and I was wondering if you wanted to dance with me.”

Something about her confidence was sweet but shy & it made his chest feel warm.

“I’d love that,” he said.

They danced for hours.

More drinks, more laughter, bodies moving in sync. At some point, Channi suggested they take a walk along the beach.

The moon lit the shoreline, the ocean shimmering under its glow. Music from the bars faded into the background as they talked. Flirty, easy, wholesome.

She noticed a little print on his arm when she grabbed him. “Oh! You must’ve gotten really tan today” she says pointing at his arm that she barely touched that left a print.

“Oh uh yeah..I didn’t put on that much sunscreen so I look extra tan than I usually am right now” he says in an almost insecure way due to his family beliefs about tans.

“Well I love it. It makes you look Sun Kissed.”

She says lovingly & honestly.

Taehyung starred at her in awe & immediately felt comforted in a way. He looked at her with sparkling eyes almost.

Channi noticed & she leaned in.

Taehyung froze.

Memories flickered, his past, the woman who walked away, the son he raised alone. He was careful. Always careful about women.

Channi pulled back instantly, eyes wide.

“Oh my God, I’m so sorry. I don’t know why I did that. I just thought we were-”

He cut her off by gently cupping her face and kissing her.

The kiss was slow, sweet, and full of feeling. Fireworks exploded in his chest, something he hadn’t felt in a long time. The kissed under the moon that illuminated them both

They walked hand in hand the rest of the night.

Before parting ways, she smiled at him.

“I’d really like to go on a proper date with you.”

He hesitated.

“There’s something I need to tell you.”

“I’m listening.”

“I’m actually a dad,” he said softly. “I have a three year old son.”

He thought it was gonna be an obvious deal breaker for her. She was young, beautiful, no kids, no responsibilities. He waited for the disappointment but it never came. Much to his surprise.

Her face lit up.

“I knew there was more to you! Total dilf vibes.”

He blinked. “Dilf? Um… thanks?” He laughs.

“That’s the first time someone’s ever called me that” he says.

Channi gasps “What! No way, I doubt that. If that’s true for you maybe everyone’s just saying it behind your back cos I mean look at you” she flirts.

& he says “Don’t go boosting my ego now Channi. I’m already cocky as is.” he jokes. & she giggles.

Later that night, Taehyung returned to the beach house.

He quietly opened his mom’s door and smiled when he saw her asleep, Avian snuggled close to her chest.

He closed the door gently and went to his room.

Lying in bed, staring at the ceiling, his thoughts kept drifting back to Channi.

The kiss.

And for the first time in a long while, he allowed himself to imagine a future.

He even started picturing a perfect life with her & Avian.

My timing was a little off. I’d told Tae I was going to head back to my place the next day, but Yuna didn’t want to go to the concert alone since Nari was babysitting for her. So I stuck around for day two of Stanford. Of course Taehyung didn’t argue, happy to have an extra night together. 

Tae had convinced Hobi to go to the gym with him, the offer was there for me to join them but I’d bowed out. Considering how things were going back at the house, I was glad I had stayed back. Jungkook and his little photographer friend were causing quite the stir. First I saw Yuna coming out of Jungkook’s room carrying Ara and shaking her head. I wasn’t quite sure what that might have been about until a minute later the photographer came out with her gear bag. The girl looked a bit flustered herself, nodding politely to me before quickly making her way to the main part of the house. Jungkook wasn’t far behind her, carrying his toiletries and some fresh clothes. He smiled saying good morning before disappearing into the bathroom humming to himself. If either of them thought they were being slick, they weren’t. I just shook my head going back to our room to get my phone. I did a quick check in with my team back in the office letting them know I’d be coming in in the next couple of days and we’d be having a meeting. I also wanted updates on an event we were running that weekend. By the time I was doing doing that and went out to the kitchen I found Namjoon and Jungkook arguing about his state of dress, and Mina looked like she’d been caught with her hand in the cookie jar after whatever Nari had just said to her. Being part of this family, this was the normal and I honestly wouldn’t trade it for the world. 

When Tae got back, I was filling him in as he got dressed after his own shower. “You missed all the fun while you were at the gym.” I teased. 

“Hm? And what was that?” He pulled his shirt on. 

“Jungkook’ and Mina. Something definitely happened between them last night. I’m sure of it.” I sat back on the bed. “Hopefully he’s smarter than we were the first time around.” 

Tae turned and just blinked at me, I tried to hold back my smirk as I looked up at him. “Jungkook isn’t that innocent..” he reminded me, his tone holding a bit of amusement. 

“Oh, I know.” I shrugged, “Just saying.”

“Thinking about that mess still gives me anxiety.” Tae commented, shaking his head. 

“It’s been ten years, Tae. We were both young, stupid, and inexperienced. It’s no surprise we had a scare.” As far as I knew only Jin knew about it. Being the oldest, Tae had opted to go to him. He’s supported us as we figured things out. Both of us had been pretty freaked out, yet somehow Jin had remained calm through the whole mess. 

“We’re in a much better place now, if it were to happen.” He stated.

“Mm… One step at a time, Mister.” I laughed. “You’re on tour. Not sure if that’s a better place.” 

Tae moved to crawl on the bed coming over to kiss me, “You know what I mean, Jagiya.” 

I did. We weren’t two kids trying to figure out how to navigate the world. They had been fighting to make a name for themselves and I was trying to get through school. Now we were well established in all aspects of our lives. His hyung were all proving that those adult relationships were possible. 

“I have to go, but tonight…’ He smirked, kissing me again before pulling away. 

The guys headed to the stadium, Yuna and I planned to get there around Sound Check. It was just easier to get into the stadium earlier, even if we were going in through a staff entrance. Mina stayed back and rode with Yuna and I to the stadium while Nari stayed back to babysit. I wasn’t sure what Aeri was doing, but I doubted she was doing two late nights with her  little one. 

We got there shortly after the guys had come off stage from doing the VIP sound check. They were all in a good mood. Mina had gone off to her corner to pull out her gear to start getting ready. I wasn’t surprised to see Jungkook immediately drawn to her. While waiting to get changed and for Make-up Yoongi took the opportunity to have a moment with his wife. Tae came over eating something, I swear, that man was always finding food. 

“Good sound check?” I asked then motioned to whatever it was he was eating. “What is that?” 

“A donut I think,” he held it up, it looked like a cruller. Sweet and airy. “I think it’s going to be a warm one tonight.” he commented. 

“Make sure you drink plenty while you’re out there.” 

He grinned, “Ah, you’re worrying about me.” He turned as his stylist called for him. “Gotta go,” he stole a quick kiss then stuffed the rest of his pastry into his mouth before going to get ready. 

“Sora, eat.” I turned to see Jin directing one of the dancers to the food. I recognized her, she’d been around since the tour prep had started. Quiet and shy, the guys had all taken to her. I think because they saw that the other dancers didn’t quite accept her. I’d heard some rumblings that they thought she was stuck up. By now, the guys had all seemed to adopt her as a little sister. For the most part. I watched as she went over and was picking at some fruit. Jimin walked up behind her, rubbing her shoulders then leaning in to say something to her. I was curious, I mean Jimin could always be a bit more touchy in his affection. I’m not sure what he might have said to her, but she shook her head with a shy smile. 

One by one the guys traded out with the stylists and got ready. When Tae came back we were sitting on the couch just hanging out. “Hey, you know that dancer… the shy one?” 

“Mm, Sora?” Tae asked looking up from his phone. 

“Yeah, she still having troubles with the other dancers?” 

“She keeps to herself mostly. We try to make sure she feels like she fits in, though.” he explained. “Why do you ask?” 

I shrugged, “No reason. I just saw Jin trying to get her to go get some food and Jimin was teasing her, while you were with the stylist.”

“That’s normal.” He nodded. 

It was almost time for the show to start, so Yuna and I headed out to find our seats. The guys had their pre-show rituals and routines, so we got out of their hair. 

“What time are you leaving tomorrow?” Yuna asked as we navigated our way to our seats. 

“In the morning most likely. It’s a few hours’ drive plus traffic.” I was not looking forward to the drive. “Not too early though.” I knew it was going to be a late night. 

We didn’t have to go to every show, but we all enjoyed showing support for the guys. To see what they had built and what they had come back to.  It wasn’t just about that, it was to see them happy on stage, enjoying themselves. It made me think back to how beat up the guys were when they got off the stage at the first two shows I went to. Watching how Tae could be himself and have fun, I loved it. It was healing in a lot of ways.

After the show we had to reconnect with Mina backstage. Traffic was a bit rough, so we got back to the house a bit after the guys. Things were quiet, Tae and Jungkook were sitting out on the front porch. 

“Where is everybody?” I asked. 

“Namjoon and  Nari are in their room, talking. Jin and Jimin both went to bed I think. Hobi is talking to Jia, and Yoongi was checking on Ara.” Jungkook ticked each of them off one by one. 

Yuna wished everyone a good night and slipped inside past us. 

Tae stood, “And we’re now going to bed.” He said, reaching for my hand. 

I smirked, recalling what he’d said before leaving for the concert. “Good night.” 

Leading me back to our room, Tae pushed the door shut. “You’re not very subtle,” I teased him. 

Tae smiled, catching me and pulling be into him, resting his forehead to mine. It’d only be a few nights until we’d be back together. But we always tried to make the most of those nights before we had to part ways for any bit of time. 

“Maybe not, but I’ve been thinking about this all night.” 

“We’re going to have to be quiet,” I reminded him. 

“Wouldn’t be the first time.”

The two youngests rushed home like never before. They probably looked close to crazy, the expensive, luxurious neighbourhood not used to seeing someone rowdy and quick - the rich had enough time for everything it seemed.

But neither of them two could stop and care about their outlooks. Their breaths fanged against their face masks as they hurried up the little hill to one of the expensive villas secluded from the busy city.

The maknae held the flimsy plastic bag closely in his fist, the medication inside along with a few more things they had picked up by the pharmacy they thought might help, even if they had practically no idea as for what exactly was happening back home.

But even now, there were waves of distress going continuously through the strong bond the alphas shared, and so they both pushed their legs a little more, worried about what went down. And you. Mostly you, to be honest.

When Taehyung hurried to push in the first entrance code, quickly unlocking the metal gate with his key, the younger didn't even wait for him to open it fully, already pushing himself through, running over the few tens of meters to their front doors.

He wasn't even worried about the ice hidden amongs the white spects of snow as the alpha did a absent-minded scent check of their entire property. But he couldn't smell anyone who didn't belong there, and so he was left calm.

Perhaps if he and the other alpha hadn't rushed in just the way they did they would have noticed the rustled snow just by the right side of the pack house's garage opening, the disturbances leading further to the back.

Jungkook rushed to unlock the second entrance, the system emitting a loud beeping melody at the intrusion, as both him and Taehyung clambered inside, only kicking of their shoes and locking the door behind them.

They left their jackets, hats and masks on, only tugging them off as they made their way further inside to where the scents were the strongest - and it reeked of pheromones, worry and distress.

The usually clean and airy bedroom their packalpha occupied was left a mess. Mostly scent wise though, having both of the alphas breathe in sharply as they took in the sudden scent difference. As they finally adjusted after a few short moments, Jungkook could finally feel the blood thumping in his ears subside after he saw you.

You were tightly curled up against Jimin, laying with your legs almost up to your chin, cradled to him so close as the man kept on rubbing his chin up and down your neck, cheek, top of your head, cheek and neck against, restlessly.

Hobi sat with his back facing to the door, only quickly turning, just the way they had all done the moment they had entered the tussled room, before he focused back on rubbing all your pressure points by your feet, hoping to take your attention from your hurting tummy.

Yoongi sat behind Jimin, not able to lay down and calm down, his hand holding onto your wrist in a tight hold, his thumb pressed right up against your pulse. It wasn't like you were dying, he would keep on reminding himself, but he couldn't help himself.

Jin fretted over you from sitting on your other side, his hand softly comforting your leg in gentle motions as he cooed and kissed your shoulder every once and again. And Namjoon, the always so collected packalpha, sat just by your head which partly rested against his lap, his hands combing through your hair, his palm always quick to cover your tightly clenched one on his hoodie whenever the pain would get to you, shushing your soft, hurting whimpers.

„Babycheeks-!”

„Babybun-!!”

Both of the youngests couldn't help themselves, seeing you so vulnerable, hurt and of need of comfort. They took quick rushed steps to you, one of them kicking the doors back closed in a hurry, before they both clambered close.

But even in their frantic state they made sure not to touch the bed in any way. No matter your state it was still your nest, even if it now has been ruffled and practically turned over. That didn't matter.

„Did you brought the medicine for her?”

„Yes, but hyung what i-”

„Give it to me Jungkook-ah.”

Yoongi didn't even ask, all politeness thrown out of the window a while ago. They had a bigger matter at hand - you needed help, and they were meant to do just that. His hand has already outstretched towards the rustling plastic, thought his other thumb stayed tightly pressed to your wrist, the alpha still wanting to watch over you.

Thrusting the bag to his older, the youngest's eyes couldn't help but gloss over, watching you and you shook and whined. Taehyung was no better, while quiet, his mind has been going overdrive with trying to figure out what to do. His alpha was going crazy when he couldn't think of an instant way of making you all okay again.

With quick fingers the second eldest fished out among the few things they had bought, what seemed to be the pills for nausea - the white, small, cardboard box laying at the very bottom of the bag.

Putting the rest to the side, both Namjoon and Jin quick to go through whatever was left inside, Yoongi quickly turned the packet over, reading the label in an up-tight rush.

„..okay...” he mumbled to himself, quickly opening the seal before he fished out he crinkly plastic overlaid with the soft aluminium seal covering the small pills.

„How much?” Namjoon asked, his eyes sat on the box the older still held in hand, abandoning the calming tea, vitamin drops and gummies that Jin had been slowly looking through for the past few minutes with him.

„One pill and then another in at least 4 hours. Two are the maximum per day. Okay. Okay, kitten, baby, I need you to sit up for a second. It will be only a little moment kitty, alpha promises.”

Yoongi felt his heart break at your soft whimpers when both him, Jimin, and Namjoon started to slowly manoeuvre you to sit up better. Your hurting sounds had the youngest suck in a breath, his brows furrowed as his hands hovered to get closer, but he held back. Taehyung was no better.

„You're okay cub, it's all okay. Alphas need you to take this medicine now little one. Please honey.” Jin said gently, thought he could hardly even assume you were hearing him over the other alphas words of comfort, coos and rumbles.

But the eldest already had a glass of water in hand, ready to have you drink up while Yoongi rushed to pop the pill out, gently pushing it against your lips accompanied by a soft voice saying: „There kitty, just open up now... Good girl...”

He was already leaning over with the glass tipped to your lips, his thumb swiping over the few droplets of water that escaped just by the corner of your mouth, his watchful eyes set, closely examining you.

When your little hand, seriously, since when did they seem so pale and cold, pushed against his chest, he was quick to recoil with the drink, his sleeve wiping just by your lips to dry them off. You stayed quiet for a second, breathing shallowly, your eyes closed and brows furrowed.

Finally, as you opened them, they took in first the two youngests, anxiously waiting by the side of the bed for your permission. You didn't have the strength to say they could enter, but they could all understand at your little whimper, your eyes meeting both of theirs as you tugged and pulled a bit at the blanket just bellow you.

Immediately, Taehyung rushed up, his coat long dropped on the floor as he crawled over his hyungs to get to you, his cheek profusely rubbing and scenting your entire face, neck and shoulders, having you whimper after a particularly strong tussle.

Jungkookie was no better, his arms wrapping around your middle in the upmost gentleness, not squeezing at all, as his nose stayed tucked right up against the crook of your neck. Only when the packalpha's fingers wrapped around the back of his neck, the spot where he could he scruffed if needed by him, did he recoil, his soft growls and rumbles sounding as his both palms kept on rubbing up and down your thighs and knees as he stayed seated quite literally at your feet.
