Though she had not been assigned to preside over this case, she had nonetheless been required to attend it's trial. The Themis Legal Academy's Judge course was to have their tour of the courthouse, and it was considered to be of the utmost importance that they witness a trial.

This did not bother her--in fact, it provided a new perspective for her as well. It also meant that she got to meet the students that would later join her in these halls, which was incredibly exciting. There had been two young ladies in particular that she had noted and been introduced to--a Ms. Woods and a Ms. Scuttlebutt.

The latter was an interesting sort, and she had been informed that it was lucky that the young lady came out of her box, whatever that entailed. Ms. Woods, on the other hand, had been incredibly sweet. She had mentioned how her best friend was the defense attorney in the trial, how great she was, and how she hoped to preside over one of her trials once she graduated. Justine got the sense that she would be a capable judge.

Once the trial was over, she spotted said defense attorney, and made a point to approach her. Ms. Woods hadn't been lying; the young lady certainly was a sight to behold in court.

"Pardon me--you are Ms. Cykes, correct? Forgive me for the intrusion but I wanted to say you did a wonderful job in court today."

Dory: Something someone has told you that you can’t forget (two good things and one bad)

    Well, there’s a lot of things I haven’t forgotten that fall somewhere in there.    Maybe every time a client has thanked me for helping them —    & every time Ms. Wright says she has faith in me…    those would be the good ones.

    As for the bad… I can’t answer that. It’s the absolute worst.    ( she doesn’t seem to want to mention Phoenix’s reveal of forged evidence. )

Mulan: Do you trust your gut feeling? What happened.

    I try to, that’s for sure.     There have been a lot of cases where I’ve just had to go for it.

    But you know about the most prominent time I’ve had to, right Athena?     Heh… don’t think that needs my telling…

If Apollo thinks she can escape the sweet handmade card and assortment of homemade treats like chocolate dipped oreos from Athena, then she is wrong. "Happy Valentine's Day, Apollo! I hope it's a good one!"

    As if Apollo would even dream of trying to escape such goodies! She welcomes them with excitement. She had in fact, planned to counter this with some gifts (though store bought) of her own — presenting a pink stuffed bear & a large box of chocolates to her best friend.    "Happy Valentine’s day, Athena!"
