The royal wedding. Evan had come to pay his respects to the new king and queen. Not to mention it was another excuse to continue the talks with Jean Pierre of an alliance between their kingdoms. Still, today he would give him peace.
So he wandered around the garden, sipping on wine and chatting with various important people of Athos. They were boring but nevertheless he’d plastered a smile to his face as he talked about their children or careers. Every once in a while someone would subtly or not so subtle suggest marriage with either their daughters or in general. Evan would politely avoid the question, asking them in turn about something else. The lengths people would go to to social climb were hilarious.
He was in the middle of a conversation with some middle ranking gentleman when he spotted him, standing on the edge of the garden. At first he thought his eyes were deceiving him but as he excused himself to get closer he realized he was correct. Percy Everett, in the flesh. His first instinct was to hug him but he held himself back. He had to maintain his decorum. Not to mention the fact that he was angry with him.
“It’s a coward’s move to run away,” He said, approaching Percy from behind, a blank look on his face. “But I’m sure you know that.”
