knock knock! headcanon question: how do you think djura interacts with old yharnam’s beast population? he says that the beasts are still people, but they obviously aren’t in their right minds to say the least. does he treat them as pets, or the way zookeepers will interact with the animals they look after? or more like patients with hopes of curing them? or something else altogether?

His approach changes depending on the beast!!

Like I said before, some beasts still retain their their human memories and want to be treated as such. They still live in their old houses and need help around, and they forget that they have to look at a book to read it instead of chewing on it, but they’re still people nonetheless. And some beasts HATE being coddled by Djura! So he leaves them be and treats them exactly like another person.

For the majority of them though, he’s more of a zookeeper. But petting them, playing with them, brushing them out, it’s all part of their daily care, he swears it!!!

And Djura knows beasthood is irreversible. The blood has already made changes to his own body (lightening his eyes, curving his canines ever so slightly), so all he can do for the beasts is make their lives as comfortable as possible.
