Rest of of the team has to rise their game to fucking high level, so that Remus who involved in planning couldn't bust them.
Because if he bust them, Remus has to disclose all the details of the plan to McGonagall. And literally nobody wants that.

The best of the fun started after James made Head boy. Remus being on the other side with detailed knowledge of rules he can break without getting into trouble, and no obligation to report said pranks.
