The combination of my sophomore students' high English levels, their genuine interest in speaking and practicing English, and the relatively small class size (14 students) made for a great term, despite having one of their class sessions on Friday afternoons. For part of the final exam, the students prepared a presentation in English that demonstrated their skills and improvement over the term (a literal performance based assessment). The presentations included speeches, dramas/skits, songs, a film review, a tàijí lesson, poetry readings, and the above "one woman show". I had the students record the presentations so we could critique them as a class and give each student immediate feedback. Other videos to come when I get them online.
Also, with the above presentation I was the only person able to understand the first two jokes in English, and it felt weird/cool to be the person understanding for a change, while everyone else could not.
