@performsart : lord what will become of me once I’ve lost my novelty.
JUNE NEVER THOUGHT OF HERSELF AS A VERY ORIGINAL PERSON. it’s hard to explain, really - not everyone is as uniquely crafted as they all claim to be. she just never associated outstandingly one of a kind as being synonymous with june young. plucking a handful of women off the street that look vaguely like her and you’d probably get somewhere pretty damn close. however, she likes to think the people she’s surrounded herself with inspire her to fight for her own novelty. bailey truly is a one of the kind, critical asshole on surface level ( and maybe the first couple of the onion layers beneath ), and yet, he’s wormed his way into their hearts by letting moments of calm, sweet & genuine care peek through. teddy may feel as if he’s one of millions of artists, but there’s no one on this earth that’s as genuine as he is. and sure - june is definitely a bit biased in that regard, but she knew it at that lunch table all those years ago. there’s not a disingenuous bone in his entire body && that’s rare enough to come by these days without factoring in his art, his smile, and his love.
‘ HEY. i don’t even think that’s possible. ‘ ALEX is an entirely different time of unique in june’s eyes. the duo provide the textbook definition of introvert vs. extravert which makes it easier for the brunette to grasp on to what makes her so special. but moments like these - the aftermath of a bad audition, a worse date - june can see alex’s grip on herself start to slip. with a gentle move, her arm comes to rest around her roommate’s shoulder, giving her the space to rest her head onto june. ‘ you always bring something new to the table. i’ve known you for years and there’s never been a day where i can predict what you’re going to do next, literally ever. ‘ a sharp exhale of the nose is heard - good. we’re getting there. ‘ i may not be very wise in the world of performing arts, but we both know my emotions are fucked up and you’re the only performer to ever get me to cry like i did when you were in RENT. ‘ that gets her a full laugh, chest expanding from it’s tight confines. it doesn’t feel right when alex is upset.
‘ YOU’VE NEVER GIVEN YOURSELF ENOUGH CREDIT, ALEX. ‘ her hand moves gently to rub alex’s arm, attempting to provide a sense of physical comfort where words may not be enough. june’s never been very good with words. but when she says it, she means it. ‘ so what if some fucking idiot audition person didn’t let you finish your song? HE’S A DICK. and he’s a man, so how much could he really know anyway? ‘
