Welcome to PeriodBuilt!
Welcome to PeriodBuilt.
This blog is dedicated to historically and period-accurate builds for The Sims 4. I focus on architecture first: exteriors, proportions, and layouts common for that time — with interiors that reflect how people actually lived.
I make builds inspired by real eras, from modest cottages to larger townhouses and manors. I will always include my reference images, and my Custom Content list.
I’m building by chapter of The Field Guide to American Houses. This book covers America’s domestic architecture from Native American homes to Modern McMansions (ugh). The Sims is NOT built for creating Native American homes, so those will be skipped. With detailed guides on the anatomy, form, structure, and style of American homes I will be building through periods, starting in the 1600s.
I will place each house in a world according to its style. Think Willow Creek and French Colonial, Brindleton Bay and New England Pre-Railroad, Strangerville and Manufactured Homes.
Join me as I navigate historic architecture, period accurate technology and geographical-equivalent living conditions.
