i'm so happy ur defending elektra!!! i love her so much and i hope nothing happens to her (i mean other than death which already happened lmao) in the defenders

thank you!! it always really bothers me that people um. hand wave away her abuse and childhood. when there are other people who get sympathy for similar situations. (Bucky. Ward Meachum. For instance.) 

I know me too!! I’ve been been worried for months, but I’ve got a good feeling about the defenders. I think our girl is going to go through some tough stuff. (Which she shouldn’t be blamed for. It’s really clear it’s a “winter soldier” type situation, just from the previews) But I think she’s going to pull through it at the end. I’m honestly hoping they’ll do a spin off for her, misty and colleen in daughters of the dragon.

okay, so I understand that you think Root is an 'abuser' (I disagree). but I also think it's pretty clear that Shaw is not her 'victim'. do you realize that Shaw biked across the entire state just to help Root, even when Root didn't ask for her help?

Would you prefer i say abused instead of victim? Survivor? Target? Victim isn’t synonymous with weak, and people “help” their abusers all the time whether obligation or manipulation or self preservation.

Their first meeting was a deception that ended in threats and Shaw’s torture. Then kidnapping and using the death of Shaw’s parents to “persuade” her assistance. Shaw happily repaid this assholery by knocking the shit out of Root to recapture her. Fastforward through tons of sexual harassment and privacy invasion, and Root drugs and imprisons Shaw to stop her from trying to save Reese BECAUSE SHE LOVES HER ADOPTED SIBLING DAMMIT. So Root infantilized her and took away her agency to selfishly keep a toy safe. I think that ep also ended with Root smugly insisting on feeding Shaw instead of letting her feed herself. Fucking awful.

So you’re telling me it’s all fine because Shaw went to help Root, a (forced) member of the team Shaw has become family with who has a direct connection to the Machine, in her mission to ensure the entire team would be safe?? That’s the best defense you have that Root isn’t abusive and Shaw welcomes all her negative attention?
