@honimoore 3rd morning / near the gym??
Exhaustion doesn’t fully encompass the extent of her ache. This morning most especially, after such a long day of negotiation and an even longer night of confrontation. She just wants lie down and go to sleep forever. Though she’s not so sure she pulls it off, she still tries to put on a smile when she waves Darby and Kin goodbye. She walks backwards carelessly, distracted, not realizing she’s about to bump into another.
“Perri?” she says, turning around breathlessly. “Good morning.” She looks back down the hall where their loved ones are about to enter the gymnasium. “I hope you have been well. And Sage, too, of course. I think I remember Kin mentioning your daughter a few times.” It’s weird to talk about all of this so indirectly, especially when the two of them used to be friends. At least, Aven likes to think they were. Nowadays she only ever hears about Perri through the proverbial grapevine.
