what did she give away? because "hey I need this back for (insert some purpose here)" might work (plus it's straightforward and can be said in a neutral tone)
she gave away my motor bike helmet but i have a driving license for a car so i dont really use the helmet anymore (this is also why i didnt notice she had it until i just saw her driving past us a few minutes ago). another thing is that the helmet is very old and not secure for usage on the streets. i messaged her that now and that she shouldnt use the helmet anymore & if she could give it back to me
