Reader Problems Tag
I was tagged by thepontifexmaximus. Sorry this is late. Thanks for tagging me!
1. You have 20,000 books on your TBR. How in the world do you decide what to read next?
I will completely ignore them and get out a book from the library that a friend has recommended me that I haven't even put on my list yet.
2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you quit or are you committed?
I used to be really good at sticking with books until the end but that was when I never did anything but read because I had no other hobbies. Now I'm not so good and I'll usually procrastinate until it's due back at the library so i have to stop reading it anyway.
3. The end of the year is coming and you’re so close, but so far away on your Goodreads reading challenge. Do you try to catch up and how?
I've never done a goodreads reading challenge before but if I did I'd probably try and catch up. I'd start reading longer every night and take a book on the bus instead of listening to music and I'd stop reading fanfiction.
4. The covers of a series you love do. not. match. How do you cope?
I've never really had this problem before but if the cover sucked that bad, I had to buy the book, and I couldn't find another cover I probably just wouldn't buy it. I'd get it from the library instead.
5. Everyone and their mother loves a book you really don’t like. Who do you bond with over shared feelings?
I've got one friend I can think of who I could talk to about any book whether I liked the book or not
6. You’re reading a book and you are about to start crying in public. How do you deal?
I would cry internally instead of externally and send angry texts in all caps to a friend or someone.
7. A sequel of a book you loved just came out, but you’ve forgotten a lot from the prior novel. Will you re-read the book?
I probably wouldn't. Even if I hardly remembered anything I'd just read the sequel anyway because hopefully it would remind me of points i forgot when those points come up in the story.
8. You do not want anyone. ANYONE. borrowing your books. How do you politely tell people nope when they ask?
I don't mind people borrowing my books (though I'll give the person a lecture first about how it must be returned in perfect condition) but if it's a special book or something I'll just tell the sorry I'd rather they not borrow that.
9. You’ve picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over your reading slump?
Read a book I know is good or a book that's aimed at an audience a bit younger so I don't have to work as hard to understand it.
10. There are so many new books coming out that you’re dying to read! How many do you actually buy?
I'll probably have enough book vouchers from birthday/Christmas to be able to get them all. I still haven't used all of 2013's Christmas vouchers so... (they've got a two year expiry date, don't worry)
11. After you’ve bought the new books you can’t wait to get to, how long do they sit on your shelf before you get to them?
They'll sit there for ages. I always have to prioritise reading library books over bought books (yet still I get fines) so it's very unlikely I'll read a bought book straight away. I usually take bought books to read on holiday or I return all my library books before I read them.
That was fun! I'm just going to tag persassyxjackson because she probably reads a lot going by the blog.
As always, you don't have to do it if you don't want to and if you do want to do it and you're not tagged please let me know and I'll tag you next time or just do it anyway.
