This is probably going to make me sound like a bit of a grump, but oh well.

As someone somewhere on the a-spectrum who places a HUGE amount of value on friendship, I sometimes get a little tired of how often every meaningful relationship gets filtered through a romantic lens or so. And I don't even mean this as criticism of romance, queerplatonic relationships, or any of the countless ways people can care about each other. I genuinely adore and respect that too and love these stories too.

I just wish people remembered that friendship is also a profound, beautiful, and important kind of connection.

Sometimes when I see discussions about aspec characters and their relationships, it feels like every possibility gets explored except for the very ordinary idea that two people might simply be friends. Not "queerplatonic something," not "secret third option." Just friends.

I’m honestly delighted by how seriously invested you guys are in the whole Skittles situation and how you’re coming up with strategies for how Grace could get them back, hahaha. Some of your ideas have already made it into the text, btw, just wait for it. But tbh, I don’t really want to dig too deep into the really serious scientific aspects of it, since this whole thing was originally just meant for fun. But I really love your enthusiasm, hahaha.

Same goes for the fact that half the tags are fully on Grace’s side with support and encouragements. Is beautiful!!!

By the way, I'll reply to all the asks and messages… someday. I promise. Right now I’m feeling a little overwhelmed by the amount of communication, and unfortunately I just don’t have the capacity for that much at once, haha 😅 But it is very sweet, genuinely!! "CONTROL, I AM NOT COMING BACK"

"is a short and emotional narrative game about a lost astronaut searching for a reason to keep going forward while facing the emptiness of space. Inspired by the Hopecore aesthetic, it’s a story about positivism, friendship and our human connection with Voyager 1".

I just finished this tiny free game on Steam. It took me less than an hour to get through, and somehow still left me sitting in front of my screen in tears.

The thing is, I can't even properly explain what got to me. It's all very familiar stuff and fairly simple ideas. Almost "basic life lesson" territory. And yet somehow it landed exactly where it needed to.

Maybe sometimes you just need to hear simple things. Maybe sometimes a game tells you that you can use WASD to move, but in the end you only ever move forward.

The whole thing left me with this lovely bittersweet feeling. A kind of gentle melancholy, but a warm one. I caught a few PHM vibes and a little bit of Outer Wilds, too. Maybe something else as well, but I can't quite put my finger on it. It felt a lot like the emotion I had while watching the Artemis II launch broadcast. And it had that elusive something that eventually just makes you go, "yeah, this is hopecore."

Absolutely wonderful.

I love human emotions in human games. Please take an hour to appreciate this little beautiful thing too!

SIX surgeries??! IN ONE DAY. God have mercy on me, I still have comics and drawings to make and I need my back unharmed and preferably straight.

I'm about to complain shamelessly for a moment because this is genuinely making me upset.

Lately I can't properly draw, write, play games, or do basically any of the things I actually enjoy doing at my computer because my back and neck hurt so much after work. It's not even that I'm too tired to be creative. Quite the opposite. I have ideas. I want to draw. I want to make things.

But after about 15-20 minutes at my desk, the pain starts creeping in. Ten minutes later it's no longer just annoying, it's actively distracting. A little longer and the discomfort turns into the kind of pain that makes it impossible to focus on anything else.

So I end up being incredibly inspired and then only able to spend maybe twenty minutes a day on the things I'm excited about.

The last drawing I posted took something like seven or eight separate sessions because I physically couldn't stay at my desk long enough to finish it in one go.

I usually try not to complain about it. I do my stretches. I try to keep an eye on my posture. I adjust my workspace. Sometimes it's better, sometimes it's worse. But I've only been back at my job for a month and a half, and somehow it's managed to drain not only all my time and energy, but my spine too. UGHHHHH.
