7: If your muse had the opportunity to turn into the opposite sex for a day, would they take it? If so, what would they do?
headcanons >> accepting!
Ahh.. I could see it going either way, but I feel like she would be largely uninterested in doing so. She’s not really interested in sex or messing with a penis or anything. Though she might just for shits and giggles? I guess it depends on her mood for that day. If she ended up looking like Carver, and he was still around Kirkwall, she might try to impersonate him. It’d be horrible.
BOLD ANY FEARS WHICH APPLY TO YOUR MUSE. ITALICIZE WHAT MAKES THEM UNCOMFORTABLE.

I think she prefers baths. Does Thedas even have a shower? What is the plumbing situation like? Speaking as if there was, though, she’d prefer a bath more often than not. She’d use it as a way to relax.
♀ how long does your muse usually need for a shower/bath?
Baths can take a long time. They’re probably one of her few luxuries. So, maybe an hour or so? Depends on how long she can get away with haha
♂ does your muse put on make-up? how long do they need for it every day?
How very Orlesian! I can’t imagine Kaitlyn putting on makeup unless forced to by some societal pressure or something else. And even then, she doesn’t apply it often so it’d turn out disastrous.

I don’t know if this fits the ‘solemn anger’ description exactly but…
Mama, come hereApproach, appearDaddy, I’m alone‘Cause this house don’t feel like home
Lately, I’ve been thinking about Kaitlyn connection with Leandra. How hard it must have been, for both of them, to watch Malcolm die. And I love Leandra and I think she did try to be a good mom, and she was one, but she’s only human and she has her faults too. I think Kaitlyn always felt like she wasn’t enough for her mother. They weren’t nobles, she was a mage, she wasn’t very lady like. Of course, Leandra loved Kaitlyn. I also think the move to Ferelden, and eventually fleeing to Lothering, took a lot out of her when she was used to her life beforehand.
Mother, I knowThat you’re tired of being aloneDad, I know you’re tryingTo fight when you feel like flyingBut if you love me, don’t let goWhoa, if you love me, don’t let goHold, hold on, hold onto me'Cause I’m a little unsteady
I also think the song captures that acute loss of a foundation that happens to Kaitlyn, transforming her personality into Hawke, and the Champion.

full name: kaitlyn marian hawke
gender & sexuality: female / demisexual-panromantic
pronouns: she / her
ethnicity/species: fereldan / human
birthplace & birthdate: Amaranthine in 9:06 Dragon
guilty pleasures: her dog & alcohol
phobias: death, being alone
what they would be famous for: being in the right place at the wrong time and saving people, possibly getting injured because of it
what have they / would they have gotten arrested for: public intoxication, smuggling people to freedom, making faces behind Meredith’s back
character you ship them with: very much so with Varric. Even unrequited. Idc. Like this is so much a thing that I hc her as unrequited in her main verse. But yeah, otherwise, I do like her with Anders, but there’s a lot of angst there tbh. Also, I’m really starting to like her with Merrill.
character most likely to murder them: Herself 8) Giant demon fade spider. It’s part of her canon to stay in the Fade.
favourite book genre: adventures, fantasy, smut, educational text (mostly magic and plant life)
least favourite book cliche: when it all turns out to be a dream. It’s a huge cop out to her
talents and/or powers: Healing in general. She supplements her spirit healing powers with her knowledge of herbs and poultices. She couldn’t practice her magic openly as an apostate and found other ways to help and use her magic on the sly. She’s also very gifted at ice magic and can run very fast.
why someone might love them: They probably think she’s funny and nice. They will likely be quickly turned away by her high walls.
why someone might hate them: very pro mage rights, very susceptible to being tricked by others, probably bakes templars cookies, makes bad jokes, is an alcoholic
how they change: tbh she’s always had a streak for kindness and responsibility ever since she was young. As she grows and seeks approval from her mother, she takes more on herself. That turns to weighing herself down with guilt as each of her family members dies. Her humor and altrustic nature become a thin veil for alcoholism and depression. By the end of act 3, she would rather die, but she knows she can still help people. So she dedicates her life to helping others. And it’s the only thing keeping her alive.
why you love them: oh god I just.. .Kait is my baby and I love her to death. I don’t know, I guess, in a way, I feel like she helps me.

16. What does your character do for a living? How do they see their profession? What do they like about it? Dislike?
She... helps others I guess lol She likes doing it because it makes her feel like she’s doing good in a very shitty world.
37. How is your character’s imagination? Daydreaming a lot? Worried most of the time? Living in memories?
Answered [here].
41. Is your character aware of who they are? Strengths? Weaknesses? Idiosyncrasies? Capable of self-irony?
Answered [here].
48. How are your character’s gestures? Vigorous? Weak? Controlled? Compulsive? Energetic? Sluggish?
They can certainly range between them all depending on her mood, but for the most part they’re energetic and compulsive. It’s something she picked up from using magic without a staff for many years, eventually bleeding over into the way she talks.
What are your character’s manners like? What is their type of hero? Whom do they hate?
Kaitlyn is very dramatic and sarcastic. Much like her father, she jokes to deflect how she’s feeling and is quick with witty quips. Unsurprisingly, her father would definitely be a hero figure of hers.
For the type of person she hates, that would definitely be the kind who kills for fun and tortures others, who would want to keep others locked up against their will. The reason she didn’t join the Red Iron mercenaries is because she knew it would involve killing people and that wasn’t something she was going to be able to do very easily.
11. How do they see themselves: as smart, as intelligent, uneducated?
Kaitlyn sees herself as smart. Leandra taught them well and gave her kids nothing less than what she was able to. To add to that, Kaitlyn has always had an affinity for learning itself. However, I don’t think she’d do too well in a strict school setting.
13. Did they like school? Teachers? Schoolmates?
Speaking of lol I think they were homeschooled, for a multitude of reasons. Mostly being that if their magic came out accidentally, it was everyone’s asses. However, I think Leandra’s upbringing her afforded her a wide array of knowledge and the ability to teach her children. Kaitlyn enjoyed learning but enjoyed being outside more and learning hands on magic with her dad.
17. Did they travel? Where? Why? When?
Only when they had issues with people seeing their magic. I truthfully don’t think it happened many times because if it did, they would’ve drawn much more attention to themselves as mages and been more likely to be split up. The Templars may not have had phylacteries for any of them, but I can’t imagine them giving up so easily when they’ve heard of mages in the area. So I think they only ended up moving once, from Amaranthine to Lothering. And then, of course, from Lothering to Kirkwall. Post DA2, Kaitlyn travels Thedas to help mages.
19. What were your character’s deepest disillusions? In life? What are they now?
Slowly learning that people hated and feared mages.
And right now, she forces herself to be under the illusion that she can fix that.
23. What do they want from a partner? What do they think and feel of sex?
She wants someone who has her back and will be there for her, who cheers her up and makes her forget her worries. Sex she really doesn’t think of often or totally care about. She is demisexual and I’ve only felt her have a very strong sexual attraction to Varric so far so yeaaaah
29. What is your character’s weaknesses? Hubris? Pride? Controlling?
Soft hearted lol Someone could attack her and she would retaliate in defense and then turn around and be worried she had killed them before trying to heal them. She just... she doesn’t like death. She doesn’t want anyone dying.
31. Does your character have children? How do they feel about their parental role? About the children? How do the children relate?
ahahaha Kaitlyn would love to have a child, but I just don’t see it as something she would ever allow herself to do. However, she does help raise @purestlyrium as if she was her daughter and I do love the idea of Kaitlyn adopting.
37. How is your character’s imagination? Daydreaming a lot? Worried most of the time? Living in memories?
Worried a lot, concerned for her friends and family, and then living in the past somewhat. Mostly, she likes to focus on what she can do, which is often helping others.
41. Is your character aware of who they are? Strengths? Weaknesses? Idiosyncrasies? Capable of self-irony?
I think she realizes that she can be too soft sometimes, but also she thinks it’s... normal. That this is how everyone should behave. She also knows where she excels and is glaringly aware of her weaknesses. Kaitlyn knows she would be hard pressed to fight alone, though she can do it, as she often relied on her friends when they were forced to fight.
43. Does your character have any secrets? If so, are they holding them back?
Her reliance on alcohol is something she tries to hide, but I don’t think she does it very well.
47. Do they want to project an image of a younger, older, more important person? Does they want to be visible or invisible?
I don’t think she cares if she projects as younger or older or more important. She does wish she was more invisible as a person, but she also embraces the visibility she holds because the power it grants her to protect others.
