I, Pernille Juhl, promise to always love myself and be true to myself. I promise to not let anyone boss me around or to pressure me to do something I am not comfortable doing. I promise to be open-minded and to not stress about things that are out of my control. I promise to stay true to myself. I am officially engaged to myself! 💗💍❤ #personalproposal #engaged #to #myself #ring
Being-Proposal A2 Unit3 3
For this new unit of work (Unit Three) I have thought carefully on what theme I want to portray in my photo shoots. Using multiple photography techniques, Photoshop edits, and hand manipulation techniques, I want to challenge myself into portraying the theme of identity. With this being such a wide area theme of photography, I decided to narrow it down to developing my shoots using family connections, how I perceive having such a large family in multiple different countries, such as England,America, Denmark and Turkey, but also how I see identity. Identity is a person’s conception and expression of their own (self-identity) and others’ individuality or group affiliations (such as national identity and cultural identity). Growing up with family living all over the world, at times, is difficult, trying to keep in contact phone calls, video calls, and social media websites, therefore I want to be able to convey these feelings in some way through my photography, however, sometimes being quite subtle about the actual inspiration for the shoot. I want my photos to mean something to me, and for people to be able to look at them and be intrigued into the background meaning of my photography. As for the research I will be doing, I will be looking into my family history quite a bit, to allow me to fully understand where I’m going to take my photography unit, and what outcomes I want to achieve by the end of the unit in February. I shall also research photographers whose work inspires me to base a shoot around their type of photography. I will look at multiple talented photographers and maybe some fine artists to inspire me such as ; Francesca Woodman, Alex Stoddard, Gerard Richter, Annie Leibovitz, and Mark Bradford.
