What is a Flash Day?
All of the artists are drawing a bunch of original designs to be displayed and tattooed on Friday 31st January 2014. All the prices will be advertised on the flash sheet via Instagram & Facebook and in the shop, and will be set according to the size drawn by the tattooer, so you’ll know exactly what the cost will be on the day. You will not be able to book an appointment before the day – we will be operating on a first come first served basis. If you’re at the head of the line you’ll be getting tattooed first. If you come last, you’ll be getting tattooed last.
Artists tattooing on Flash Day will be Merrick Ames @choc66, James McKenna @j__mckenna, Pari Corbitt @pari_corbitt, Aaron Ashworth @aj_tattoo, Daniel Formentin @danielformentin and Dan Molloy @danmolloytattooer.
Where can I see all the flash?
Flash sheets are being drawn by the artists from now until very close to the day. We’ll be posting the final sheets (with prices) on Wednesday 29th of January on our Instagrams (those listed above & @wa_ink_tattoo) & Facebook. Expect teaser photos from the guys as the date approaches, but full sheets will be available on the 29th, so please don’t pester us for full photos until then.
What price will the flash be?
Prices will range from $150-$450, with a small number of pieces from each artist going for $500 if you are keen for something slightly bigger. Exact pricing will be posted on the full flash sheets themselves. Rest assured that if you have $450 set aside, you’ll be able to choose from an incredible range of designs.
Will all the flash be available all day?
No, unlike traditional flash each design will only be tattooed once. This is so the artists aren’t stuck tattooing the same piece all day and you still get a unique tattoo. So once again, to reaffirm, first come first served. Have a couple of designs in mind if you’re worried about missing out.
Can I get tattooed more than once on the day?
Of course! But we can’t promise anything. If you are keen to get more than one artist to tattoo you, we will do our absolute best to make it happen – but be aware that you will need to be as flexible as possible with your time, as each artist will have their day operating at different speeds.
What time are you open?
On the day our doors will open at 9AM and we anticipate that we could be tattooing until 9PM.
What time can I start lining up?
That’s honestly up to you! But please be respectful & remember that street rules still apply – don’t expect to be drinking and getting rowdy on our doorstep, we don’t want to attract that kind of attention to the shop. If you are an ass we’ll ask you to leave and you will not be getting tattooed.
Will there be somewhere to park?
There is loads of parking around the Fremantle area – most of it being ticketed & be aware that the inspectors are always out! You can park just across the road in the Point St car park for $7.30 a day. Otherwise we are 5 minutes’ walk from the Fremantle train station and close to loads of bus stops!
Can I book in advance?
NO! Not on this day! But we will be here bright and early to start co-ordinating appointments so we can get started dead on 9AM.
Should I line up?
Absolutely! Tattoos will happen on a first come first served basis – so if you want to be certain of getting in, we’d recommend you come down early and line up!
Can I be assured of getting tattooed if I turn up?
We damn well hope so. This is our first Flash Day so even we don’t know the response it is going to get and can’t be sure how many people will be here on the day, but we’ll try to get to absolutely everybody! If you want to be certain, our only advice is to get here first.
Do I have to leave a deposit when I register for my tattoo in the morning?
All tattoos must be paid for IN FULL when you register. With the huge number of clients in and out of the door all day, it’s a logistical pain in the ass to take deposits in the morning and then the balance of each throughout the day. Plan ahead and come armed with cash when you first turn up. WE ARE A CASH ONLY SHOP – no card facilities. Please come prepared.
How can I pay?
Again, we are a CASH ONLY SHOP. There are a bunch of ATMS on Queen St (parallel to Point St) and in the Woolstores Shopping Centre on the corner. But we advise that you plan in advance!
Can I just choose what time of day I get tattooed?
Unfortunately not. To enable us to see everyone that wants to be seen, we’ll be slotting people in with the tattooers in the order that they arrive and line up. That may mean you will have a period of time between when you first register and pay for your tattoo, and when you actually start tattooing.
The only available time is late in the afternoon! What am I supposed to do while I’m waiting?
Entertain yourselves! Unfortunately the waiting facilities at the shop are just not big enough for everyone to hang out in, but Fremantle is a great place to spend the day – there are loads of things to do and keep yourself occupied while you wait. But please don’t go getting pissed at Little Creatures – anyone visibly under the influence of alcohol will be turned away.
I don’t finish work until 5PM? Can I still get tattooed?
Call us before you come down after work and we’ll be able to tell you what each artist’s day is looking like. They want to tattoo and will do their best to tattoo you all.
Can all my friends come in and watch while I get tattooed?
Nope. The shop is going to be busy all day and our artists want to focus all their attention on giving you awesome tattoos and too many excited people will only distract them. On a regular day we allow 1 person to go behind to watch/support/have their hand squeezed as you are getting tattooed but if the shop gets to busy you will have to go it alone. Be prepared.

Choose with artist/design you want.
Check the price of your chosen piece of flash, walk to your local ATM, withdraw said amount of cash.
Come to the studio in the morning of Friday 31st and join the queue.
We’ll starting registrations for the day from approx. 8AM.When we to you, tell us which artist/tattoo you want and we’ll offer you the next available appointment time.
Agree that the next available time will suit you perfectly.
Pay for your tattoo in full with the cash you have so conveniently brought with you in advance and we’ll give you a ticket to hang onto.
Keep yourself entertained until your booked time.
Come back to the counter at the designated time to confirm your return (bring your ticket).
Stay within shouting distance of the waiting room or front of the shop and wait to be called for your tattoo.
When your tattooer is ready, you’re in.
Get yourself one sweet ass tattoo.
Show off your tattoo to everyone in the vicinity and let your artist grab a photo of it before you leave.
Head home awesome!!
