Plumed Whistling Duck (2022)
Experimental painting I did using a photo I took at my local zoo for reference. I would have liked to add more detail to the background but wasn't sure exactly how to make it look right back then. I'm quite happy with how the duck turned out though!

Now let me tell you, this magpie was all the way across the grass and made a beeline towards me. Like lol.
Fennecs are so small, they don't need to be compressed! By which I mean, the image quality is terrible. I'm hoping to photograph foxes again now that I have decent lenses.
My main art blog is now @skydarcyedwards and I have an instagram photography project for my macro and wildlife.
Fennecs at the Perth Zoo. As far as I can tell it's a very ethical zoo, with a strong focus on conservation/breeding programs, and large, well designed enclosures.
They make squeeks
Perth Zoo
[video description: video is a tiktok by user @perthzoo featuring a male brown tufted capuchin sitting in front of a white framed mirror in an outdoor enclosure. We can see the hand of a fair skinned person holding the mirror upright. He is very interested in his reflection- chittering and making a submissive face (eyes wide teeth bared) and putting his hand on the mirror. A smaller capuchin also approaches the mirror and is interested in it's reflection- the video is cropped so that other capuchin isnot visible for most of the video. The male capuchin gets excited- showing a play face (mouth open but relaxed, showing top row of teeth and relaxed eyes) and he grabs the mirror trying to shake it and moving his hand up and down the mirror. While the video plays, a light upbeat tune plays. End video description.]
