#GrokYourOcean I took this picture last year at Punta Sal, Tumbes. I remember I snapped a lot of pictures of this little patch of the Pacific Ocean, since I was so mesmerized by the sunset light reflected on it. The ocean brings back childhood memories, especially memories of an special person of mine, that left this world 12 years ago: My grandfather Vicente. The ocean is the link between us, and also soothes me whenever the anniversary of his passing is closer. Some years ago, my mother told me about a waltz my grandpa used to listen at his grandmother's house: "Over the waves" by mexican composer Juventino Rosas. When I listened to it, it was so hard for me to hold back tears and to this day it still is. That waltz, the ocean, tender childhood memories and a loving grandfather, many people may think I'm just being exaggerated or over sensitive; but to my heart and soul those things mean more than I'm willing to admit. Maybe everything, and to me it's just fine. After all, it's my definition of "happiness". #ocean #puntasal #peruigers #northernperu #beach (en Punta Sal, Tumbes, Peru)
