Too many character inconsistencies: (Been awhile since I read the Promise, but I will pull this out of my muddled memories) For example in the Promise:

In which Zuko tells Aang to kill him in any case he becomes his father. (We know this was just to force the plot to move, because it invalidates his whole character arc in Book 3.)

Roku's character faces the same problem as Ursa: totally different characters. Encourages Aang to kill Zuko (your great-grandson for the matter).

Aang removing Roku's connection totally made no sense. When he sought past Avatars for advise, though he didn't agree with their ways, he didn't severe his ties with them. So... ???

Why would Zuko manhandle Katara???

The Search:

I don't understand how Zuko is able to go to Yu Dao for lectures??? How far is Yu Dao from the Capital? Especially with the Gaang??? Usually, for emperors in Qing/Ming Dynasties, the reigning monarchs (in this case would be reigning Fire Lord) would have formal lectures in the palace or study hall with top scholars and general secretaries to discuss on history, philosophy (Confucian) and statecraft, which acts as a guidance to govern a country.

Have Kiyi (AKA Azula replacement??? WTF) and dumped Azula and assasinate her character too. Not to mention Kiyi calls herself a princess when she's literally not even from the royal lineage. (Zuko and Azula's half-sister or not, not Sozin/Azulon/Ozai/ Past Fire Lord's bloodline =/= not royal)

Ursa's Character background before the whole retcon: (This was basically in the website before it got taken down)

Character: Ursa

This is Zuko and Azula’s mom, and the wife of Fire Lord Ozai (before he became Fire Lord). She is a very sweet woman and a wonderful mother, but she is also very protective – especially of her favorite child Zuko. Ursa was born to Fire Nation royalty and was raised as such. She was the perfect match for Prince Ozai and soon became his wife. Ursa spent most of her time raising her children to be good Fire Nation citizens and the ideal royal family. Ursa mysteriously disappeared on the same night as Fire Lord Azulon’s death. Some say that she was somehow involved in Fire Lord Azulon’s death – and that she did it to protect Zuko. If you're saying (Oh, but Ursa was afraid of Ozai, so she technically can't kill him etc.) I believe for Series!Ursa, she could if she wanted too. But she chooses not to. I don't even want to talk about Smoke and Shadows and the rest of the lot. Last but not least: The flashback in Zuko Alone and The Beach: (Don't think I need to explain myself with this. ursa and ozai.

the drawing was made by my cousin who is a fan of atla. and he kinda ships them (i mean he hasn't read the comics yet. but he has the the old lore and the interview script.) . i coloured it. (ozai was difficult). (he is also a silly liar because he says he can't draw well and he did this.)

so my version of urzai is different i ship them but i don't see them as romantic.(kinda akwarad) here is my version:-

starting with roku's death . so ta min and her family and the other people were already evacuated and on the boats so they can't say if sozin betrayed roku or felt to late because he came to help roku. so they all land at ember island and now try to make a new life. we know sozin manipulated fire nation history and i believe he pretty much would have done the same with ta min . she retires and stays in ember island and raises rina. when rina was old enough she was sent to the fire nation royal acadamy for girls was kinda manipulated in the ideology. Sozin's plan was to not only prevent the avatar from his plan but to also keep roku's family close to him and from the truth. under his control. so when she was old enough he convinced ta min to marry her to jinzuk ( jinzuk was a high born and a hira'a was one of the lands he owns). rina marries him kinda have a ok normal life. (lets say she spent most of her time in ember island.)

many years later (thanks to terrible timeline by the creators) ursa is born . she is the same generation as ozai. like her mother she studied in the fnrafg (academy.) she had a love for play and is a nonbender. she learns herbology and is very interested in it and learns to design weapons from these.(cuz she a badassssss too) she was also ladylike and ideologist (this is from the old lore). these qualities pleases old skeleton gasbag azulon (current fl).

meeting ozai :-

when she 14 was she was made to stay in caldera with other noble girls. she finally meets ozai (16). he dosen't know social communication and scrwed up his first meeting luckily she didn't give a shit about it. they were made to meet often(mostly during summer at ember island) and he finds her cool. (useful i mean.) after being used to eachother (not in love. and lets say they devaloped quickly 2 yrs.) gasbag tells the actual reason to ozai and declares her as his future wife ozai dosen't want to but has no say because his opinions never mattered to his father.(it's like the scene from game of thrones when tywin orders or forces tyrion to marry sansa i loved that scene showing his authority). rina has her own reasons. they arrangement is official . they still bond. ozai continues to respect her. )

married life and motherhood.

ursa was 20 and ozai was 22 when they wed. so thier marriage was ok normal . they continued to have mutual repect (likeness slowly started.) she also encouraged him to not give up on gaining azulon's favour. then zuzu was born. and ozai was ok until gasbag commented that he looks small . he was a little meh with him then azula was born to him the perfect kid was born and bonded with her right away. they still continued to be normal going to ember island and watching love amongst dragon (ursa forces the three to watch and they hate the play.) ursa sends zuko to piandao. for sword traning she wants him to learn something before any sign of firebending. she also use to nurse little azula . comb her hair etc , although she loves to spend time with her dad. she loves to pamper zuko

downfall of urzai:-

azula's firebending changes everything . ozai was at first overjoyed and slowly starts to see how useful she and was starting to have a strained relationship with zuko. much to his annoyance ursa constantly comes to be there for zuko. he starts to slowly resent ursa for a lot of reasons one of them was she was starting to become a constant living remainder of what he never had and was blamed and hated for . a mother . the relationship starts going down . and ozai's need for validation from azulon makes everything worse. ursa also stated to have a strained relationship with her daughter. she starts to focus more on zuko and that actually makes her happy. (ursa corrects and scolds the times azula shitalks about azulon and iroh or lttle bit bullies zuko.) then the scene from zuko alone.

banishment:-

in my version ursa is sent to the colonies (she chose her place . ozai never knew that). she disguises herself a servant and leaves. she she struggled first . in order to stay away from her identity revealed. settles at a small earth kingdom village. she was still a bit proud of her fn leniage but to survive she had to blend in. she settles as noriko and starts to make a living out of herbology and weapon making. (she and ozai use to travel to various places searchng for the avatar and taking control of minor eks so she used to fight like this) it gave her an idea to start her own academy and becomes the founder of a group of warriors she trains during her five years time. she also slowly realses what actually happened to her grandfather and what the fn was doing.

i'll stop here for now there is more but too lazy now. this is how i see urzai (ursa mostly)
