Update

So I'm coming towards my 6th and final month at Peshkar and things have become quite hectic. Since meeting Pete who runs bespoke which is part of somewhereto I have been planning an open mic event. It started off quite a small and simple project but after many ideas and many meetings it has turned into a huge busy project which will run alongside festival Oldham 24th May. The event will host a whole lot of different types of art forms such as street theatre, live music, skateboarding and acrobatic bmx'ers. I have been put in charge of finding acts to book and to get people to sign up to perform for the open mic section of the event. This responsibility involves using my contacts in the local music scene along with trying to network with new people to get as many as possible down to Oldham Art Gallery which is where the event will take place. I believe if the event is done right and the young people of Oldham respond to the amazing offer which is being presented to them then these type of events may happen more creating a more long lasting positive effect on what is at the moment an almost forgot about town...

Quick update

I have been working at Peshkar for 3 months now my main goal is to create a music  event and I have started to work with Pete with somewhereto to put a Bespoke event on which will be an open mic type event in Oldham at the Art Gallery. I have decided that the arts award is not for me after spending quite a lot of time thinking about it. I have had 2 meetings so far and everyone including me is already well underway with the planning on the event. Pete from Somewhereto is definitely one of the best contacts I have made through Peshkar so far.

Along with the event I have been working with Tristan who has mailed me all the video and images from Peshkar pretty much ever, so I have been uploading suitable videos to the Peshkar youtube which you can look at here: http://www.youtube.com/user/PeshkarProductions 

I have had 2 meetings with Holly from Curious Minds about what I have been doing and what my goals and aims are for not only this placement but the bigger picture beyond my work with Peshkar.

Other than that I have been updating this blog, the facebook page and the twitter too.
