When u get a new animal
Yeah: that's a whole creecher
Unyeah: I gotta learn a whole new way nature invented dick n balls.
Man I should really take Storm to the vet. She has a strange deformation on her left foot that makes her stand in a single finger instead of spreading the weight to the whole structure, and besides losing her balance often (and being very erratic in her cage, aka waving her wings a LOT and falling often), I'm scared about what this might mean for her bone/muscle structure, since cockatiel skeletons and muscles aren't meant to behave like hers are. We'll see if we can arrange a meeting with someone in the area who knows about this sort of animal
Update on my pets! My grandparents bought two new two weeks old cockatiels because they're pet hoarders, and I bought pellet cockatiel food online! I'm not completely replacing storm and her buddies' diet from seeds to pellets but since they fucking HATE any fresh fruit or veggie maybe they can actively eat these. And perhaps these little bird babies can be raised with a pellet diet?
Edit: oh I'm only learning! Pellet and seed mix is best, noted
It's been a very funny ride of guilty tripping with who will miss me if I'm gone (protip: NEVER do this to a suicidal family member) and then noticing nobody will give a shit abt my pets caging/habitations and diets except for me because Mony so I must stay alive or else.
Right now I'm trying to supplement my hamsters diet with new pellets + the old ones (I froze them for 3 days, hope it's free of bugs and their eggs by now) and by adding vegetables (I also plan on buying dried crickets and mealworms to see what he thinks, but I don't have my own bank acct yet which is 😔), my gerbil's with the same new pellets (they're for small rodents and have a bunch of vitamins) and veggies, maybe some fruits, and my cockatiels'.
I think the cockatiels will be the hardest because they're 'seedaholics' and like little kids when it comes to eating anything else, but they did nibble on the fresh banana I put on their cage a few days ago! I want to switch to pellets maybe, given empty shells of seeds can attract bugs and fungi iirc, and can be more nutritious, but cockatiels are very fucking petty when it comes to changing their diet. We'll see.
Just finished sorting out my hamsters food to see what he should and shouldn't eat from it. It was also in the freezer for a while to get rid of bugs
If y'all wanna know what people with attention disorders did before the internet or anything, they sorted out grains and other small foods because Baby I spent 2 solid hours doing this and also know what happened in 2 whole criminal minds episodes.
