hi, i'm shiro. i'm 18, non-binary and neurodivergent. since childhood i've had a deep fascination with isopods, insects, terrariums and the tiny parts of nature that most people overlook.

this blog is my little living archive for all of that - photos, species, observations, wet soil, moss, strange thoughts and small things that bring me comfort.

i like the idea of turning fascination into an archive.

I know my mommies say their pet tarantulas and roaches are off-limits, but I think theyd really love to play with me!

In case anyone was curious, earwigs cache food! I'm moving my colony to new digs and found their stash! And that was only 1/3 of the cache. After digging around that spot I found the rest, they apparently set up one heck of a larder.

I feed mine high quality fish pellets, so that's what you're looking at here.

My bugs made it all the way to Texas fine. The truck shakes a lot and freaked them out but they were fine. Some of them came up to the surface to see what the hell was going on lmao. I saw rylo Ken the whole time. And two of my small ones,Apples and my (I think) smokey oak millipede, came up. Details: We kept the tanks level and had them in the cab of the truck with us so we could control the temperature. We covered the sunny spots of the tanks with t shirts and cracked the Windows during stops. We brought the tanks Into the hotel room.

Look who decided to pay me a visit!! Although he looks grey in this picture, he's actually more of a business professional palette. A nice matte red, grey, green. V professional. His name is Anthony. 9-5 business man. He works hard. I don't remember the species. It's a thai of some sort. He hates water. I sprayed water on the other side of the tank and he decided to go back underground. It was nice seeing you Anthony. Perhaps we could schedule a meeting for next Tuesday? I'll email him the dets.

RYLO KEN IS BACK!!! I haven't seen her in many many months.
