This week, July 21st 1984, Status Quo played their 'final' show at Milton Keynes Bowl to an audience of 50 000, although they would reform for Live Aid and then continue to record and tour with some lineup changes, to the present day.

It appears that this current tour (2024), featuring Francis Rossi and Andy Bown from the 1984 lineup, really will be their last...

In May, 1982, Status Quo played the Birmingham NEC as a benefit for the Princes Trust. HRH the Prince of Wales himself was in attendance, and having received a warm welcome from the Quo Army, he met the lads backstage.

A live album was released in 1984, and HRH's presence is recognised by an audience chant of 'Charlie! Charlie! Charlie!'

In the New Year Honours of 2010, Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt were awarded the OBE in recognition of services to their profession, but also charitable work that included supporting Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy, for 'children with psychological, physical, or developmental disabilities'.
