ANGELS IN VAIN, made up of ex. SWEET PAIN and LIMOUSINE members, would not secure a deal their membership roll call was to be later felt among many other high profile acts. The debut 1984 line up featured vocalist Elka Brandt, guitarists Pete Wassiff and Steve Von Saint, bassist Paul Wassiff and former GENOCIDE / VERBAL ABUSE / MISFITS drummer Brian 'Damage' Keats. The Wassiff brothers would leave and were replaced by bassist Ronnie Roze and guitarist Roger Lane. The latter had gone under the name of Roger Ericson whilst a member of SMASHED GLADYS. Bassist Ronnie Roze would be supplanted by Davie D. and later Danny 'Discipline' Nordahl and in 1986 Scarlet Rowe took Lane's place. Both Roze and Keats would join PRINCESS PANG for their 1989 album. Keats would later join RAGING SLAB, DOPPLER and THE FUZZTONES. Lane and Nordahl forged THE THROBS. During 1986 the band featured former VIRGIN STEELE bassist Kelly Nichols. He would journey to Los Angeles to figure in FASTER PUSSYCAT and L.A. GUNS. Later incarnations of ANGELS IN VAIN featured Augie on drums then Ira Eliot. Steve Von Saint travelled to England to form KILL CITY DRAGONS.
