Connected
It was a fact of the world that for some strange reason some people were connected in a way that made them feel what another felt. Not everyone had it, and not everyone connected was some soulmate of romance and myth. But it was a fact, and feeling phantom pains was a sign of it. Because of this, most people when they had a thought tried hard to stay out of harms way as a courtesy, though small pains were a good way to tell if ones crush or friend was their connected. For Aria, she felt the pains when she was a kid, it worried her when her face would hurt or her stomach and chest. Especially since she stayed out of trouble. But her connected didn't seem to..or couldn't. She kept a record of all the pain, never knowing if it might come in handy someday. Until the day of the accident, her first pain. Flying through the glass of the hover car into the other, her back on fire from the glass, she'd sent a silent apology for whoever had to feel it with her.
