Okay so I fell in love with @weird-objects‘ st oc named peter harvey (yall should check both of them out btw!!) and i wrote a little smth that may turn into a mini series involving him and my other other bab: kacey beckett.
Kacey peeked out of the window of the cozy kitchen of her house to peer over the crops of her family. Last year, she saw Mike Wheeler and his weird friends go through her family’s crops multiple times. She got fed up of telling them off and decided to watch out in case they, or any other misfits, try to mess up the crops of the Becketts.
The redhead girl huffed triumphantly and gave a nod when she saw no one. Just as she was about to set herself back down from standing on her toes, when she saw a mop of reddish-brown hair bob up and down from the corn section of her family’s farm. Sighing in irritation, she grabbed a poking stick used to churn the milk from the inside of her house and trudged outside, ready to chase away whoever was in the corn fields.
A very impulsive move from a very impulsive girl.
“Hey buddy!” Kacey called out as she stepped into the cornfields. “Can you please come out?? Its pretty tiring to chase out people from our crops y’know??”
No answer. She huffed in annoyance and went in deeper. She followed the noise of the cornstalks rustling against each other. As the girl came closer to the source of noise, she heard the frantic whispers of a boy, pleading to what seemed an animal (probably a dog or something; she could tell by the noise it was making) that it would come out.
“Harvey!!” Kacey yelled the minute she saw the boy poking around.
The frightened boy jumped from the sudden appearance of the girl, making him turn and raise his hands up in surrender. He gulped as he took a step back when the girl raised her poking stick at him. An irritated look shone in her forest green eyes.
“Wanna tell me what your business is in poking around my crops, Harvey?” Kacey asked as she flipped her wavy curls over her shoulder.
Peter opened his mouth to respond but was cut off by the girl’s impatience.
“You know what? I don’t care, just get out.” She ordered, prodding the ground near his feet with her stick. “Go on, man. I don’t have all day.”
Pete glanced behind him quickly before turning back to Kacey. “K-Kacey, I need you to listen to me-“
“Look Pete,” She interjected, ignoring him. “I know you’re a good kid but I’ve had enough of this stuff m’kay? First it was Wheeler and his weird friends and poking around here with Sloan and Harrington. Now its you. Don’t you have your own cornfields Harvey? Why don’t you- WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!?”
Pete whipped around and groaned internally. There was what he was looking for: a creature similar to a dog… only if the dog were blue in color and had soft tendrils protruding from its back like a porcupine’s spikes. He had found the poor creature in the cornfields of his family’s farm, trembling and cold and hungry.
“Get back Harvey.” Kacey warned as she swung the stick from side to side as a warning to the creature.
The creature growled at the hostility but didn’t back away. It snarled its grey teeth at the girl as it dug its claws into the dirt beneath it. The redheaded girl swung again, this time ready to strike but Pete rushed forward, taking hold of the stick in midair.
Kacey turned to look at him with a look in her eyes saying “what the hell are you doing psycho???” as she stopped her actions midway. “Dude-“
“Godzilla’s friendly. Okay? He’s what I’m warning you about-“
“Godzilla?? You gave that thing a name?? What-“
“Just please go inside. I’ll take care of this, just don’t hurt him. Please.” He hushed Godzilla gently, effectively calming him down but still wary towards the girl. Pete looked up from crouching down in front of Godzilla with pleading hazel brown eyes. “Kacey, please.”
She still couldn’t wrap her mind around this. Shaking her head, Kacey backed up. “You’re such a weirdo… everyone is.”
Spinning on her heel, Kacey ran back to her house, ready to call the cops to report about the crazy shit she had found. Skidding into the kitchen, she picked up the phone and quickly dialed, watching through the window to see if Peter was telling the truth. As the phone line rung, she watched as the brunet came out, Godzilla in tow. He tried to hush the happy creature as they rushed back to his house, passing through the back.
In that moment, Kacey questioned whether calling the cops was a wise decision or not.
