Anne Briggs - Standing on the Shore (1971)
Perhaps more legendary and influential than actually well known, Anne Briggs stopped singing at age 27. Here's a haunting version of an Irish traditional song that she learned from Sweeney's Men.

Gracie, PLEASE finally release In Between. I've been patiently waiting for YEARS. And when you announced LAST YEAR that you would go to the studio the NEXT WEEK to record it, I was so excited. But where is it now? Because all I know is that I still listen to the 'very legally' downloaded audio on my phone that doesn't get tracked on my Spotify wrapped and that I can't proudly show off to all my friends in order for them to think I'm even more mentally ill than already.
All candidates for the election of our IE nation are cordially invited to present their program at their fellow citizens :
In the pic below, I literally did an application form on a notebook. It's not perfect, I hope it is readable at least.
This form is destined to help the candidates introduce themselves to the electors and not a mandatory way to present.
However, making a post to present the program is a necessary step for the candidates to officialize their intention of ruling our glorious nation.
List of candidates (known to this date):
@eky11 @honeycrashed @lyssacraft @eikooowie
We still accept new candidates (and citizens), this is not a post of closure.
(Disclaimer : this is not actual politic irl, just for funsies as well as the creation of IE nation, as collective meme/running joke done by the fandom on tumblr. Please, candidates and electors and others, do not be toxic fr or take too seriously all the debates that will follow and stay respectful. Do not take this as an opportunity to be racist/hateful/discriminatory/phobic/etc toward real people and communities. End of this very serious disclaimer, now back to the brainrot and chaos)
I am at your disposal for all question 🥰🥰🥰
We rise. WE RISE !
hey (with the intention of drowning in vanilla extract)
i think the most enjoyable thing about black sails is that there is no subtext. or if there is some it will always find actualisation in the text. which automatically means the characters don't have to pretend to be "dumb". They know from the start what is going on. Here lies the tragedy of it all.
Black Sails doesn't tread lightly and isn't aftaid to allinate its audience, nor is it trying to show problematic shit for the shock value. The only master black sails serves is the story and it stays true to the story until the very end where it subverts all this by saying "A story is true. A story is untrue. As time extends it matters less and less. The stories we want to be believe... Those are the ones that survive, despite upheaval and transition, and progress. Those are the stories that shape history." and acknowledges that even though Flint's whole journey happened because people tried to hide or twist the truth, it doesn't matter. Truth doesn't matter. What matters is survival. And who is John Silver if not the personification of that statement.
