Emrys shot up in bed, a cold sweat covering his body. He gave a quick look to the side to make sure that Peter didn't wake up, the demi-god knew that he was tired and didn't want to wake him up for just another nightmare.
It had been three months since Peter had come and saved him from the tortures, three months eight days and fourteen hours since Peter had brought him back to life and there was still a nagging doubt that the man laying next to him wasn't real. There was always that doubt that maybe Peter was just an actor, a new way to torture him and because of that doubt Emrys just slipped out of the bed and didn't wake Peter. The demi-god padded silently through the house to the grand piano, playing the piano had always managed to calm him down and he figured this would calm him enough to let him go back to sleep.
After about five minutes though Emrys was just sitting on the bench, his shoulders shaking as tears run down his cheeks. There was nothing he could do to stop this, there was no one he could deal with the never ending doubt that he wasn't really free. He was crying so hard that he didn't even realize that Peter came up behind him, watched him for a moment before sitting next to him and wrapping his arms around him. Emrys stiffened at the unexpected touch before melting into Peters arms, the hero didn't say anything as Emrys cried just held him close. Emrys just lets himself go, crying hard into Peters shoulder and all but clinging to Peters shirt. It didn't matter if Peter was real or not at that moment, if he was a trick or not, the demi-god just needed his boyfriend at that moment. Needed that feeling of safety and...Emrys froze for a second. Safety. He felt safe in Peters arms.
'He....He's real. There's no way a trick could make me feel this.'
Emrys pulls back slightly to look at Peter, searching his eyes.
Peter smiles slightly, using his sleeve to wipe away Emrys tears.
