The writing on #YR is crisp, intelligent, fast moving; relevant to the point of dealing with issues of computer data security that are cutting edge. To survive, this soap opera has adapted like no other. Main thing to remember is not only how difficult it is to write an hour-long drama FIVE times every week! While knowing that being able to have such presence is a gift. And the show has its ups and downs and middles and changes. While people brag about never watching soap operas, #YR has the highest ratings on television. Reminds me a lot of when Phil Collins was outselling everyone; racked up 20+ Grammy nominations; etc: yet NO ONE admits to listening to him. Like #YR Phil is a guilty pleasure that people don’t admit, keeping songs as Against All Odds; like the radical success of the great Bell family’s innovations and adaptations. Maybe, By definition; I won’t ask you about either entertainer - Genesis and the CBS Daytime lineup feat The Bold and the Beautiful also. Who is the fulcrum on the show now? Mariah! Good times.
