Rubens Reimagined
In 2013, Christian Louboutin and photographer Peter Lippmann created Rubens' Fantasy, a remarkable series inspired by the paintings of Peter Paul Rubens.
Rather than simply reproducing the master's compositions, the project reinterpreted them through contemporary fashion, discreetly introducing Louboutin's iconic accessories while preserving the richness and theatricality of the Baroque.
Among the most striking details are the borzois, whose elegant silhouettes remain faithful to Rubens' vision. Centuries after they first appeared in aristocratic portraiture, these magnificent sighthounds continue to symbolize refinement, nobility, and timeless beauty, effortlessly bridging seventeenth-century painting and twenty-first-century fashion photography.
