lucky, it happened so fast. i had plans to figure out what was going on with my allergies so that i could finally have you back all to myself and wake up to your ass on my forehead a hundred times a night, and come home to discover you've somehow tucked yourself into my (our) bed, and hear those little bells on your collar jingle when i couldn't see you in the dark so i'd (always successfully) pry out out with food. but life has its own plans that we know nothing about, and it's just crazy how we always think we have no time left when there's such a long road ahead of us, and all of the time in the world when it's nearing the end. it happened so fast. life was such a rollercoaster when you came into my life. i remember thinking, "i have no business spontaneously adopting a senior cat right now," but the next thing i knew, you were hiding under my bed for three days. i think you were brought to me for a reason, at that exact time. i was freshly grieving, confused. i moved three times in eight months. you were so obediently there for all of it. i don't know why you were destined to spend your last four years of life living through that circus, but i hope it somehow brought you as much joy as it brought others. you made people cat lovers. even some animal lovers. or just lovers. you were my first pet. you taught me so much about selflessness and unconditional compassion. i hope you felt that until those last breaths you spent in my arms while i told you everything would feel better soon, and the vet whispered you were gone. i'll never forget that feeling. rest well, lucky. i love you forever. . my deepest thank you's to @dsavs_ for bringing lucky to me and being there until the very end, to my brother for loving and caring for him like he deserved when i couldn't, and @davidsmom1120 for giving him a warm home and family when i couldn't. he was, indeed, very lucky. 🍀 . . #petgrief #rainbowbridge #luckythefatblackcat #blackcat #blackcatsofinstagram #adoptdontshop #adoptseniorpets #adoptseniorcats (at Veterinary Medical Center of Long Island (VMCLI))
A tattoo with your pet's ashes is a real, safe option when it's done the right way.
Pet cremation jewelry comes in more than one type, and the differences are not just cosmetic. Glass-infused pendants, resin pieces, and handcrafted chamber
learning to give thanks everyday 🥲

Anyone who's every lost a beloved pet knows the heartbreak, emptiness and sorrow it can bring. When you're used to their company and companionship and then they're suddenly gone, there's just a void that feels so empty. This song is my attempt to understand the sorrow I feel. Let me know what you think in the comments.
LYRICS:
[Verse] The leash hangs still on the wall His bowl untouched in the hall Echoes of paws But no sound at all
[Chorus] Goodbye my shadow Where did you go I’m walking alone I’m moving slow The world’s so quiet It’s lost its glow
[Verse 2] The yard feels empty tonight No wagging tail in the fading light Just me and the stars Holding on tight
[Prechorus] I call your name It falls like stone This house is full But I’m alone
[Chorus] Goodbye my shadow Where did you go I’m walking alone I’m moving slow The world’s so quiet It’s lost its glow
[Bridge] I see you in dreams We’re running free But I wake to find it’s just memory The door’s still open But you’re not with me
