Maybe we don't need to rush summer away.
By August, the heat can wear us down. We start thinking about cooler weather, fall routines, and everything that's coming next.
But Spice never seemed interested in what came next.
She followed the sunshine.
She rested when she wanted to.
And on summer evenings, we'd walk to the lake, watch her swim, and eventually sit together watching the sunset in peaceful silence.
Those moments taught me that some of the most restorative experiences in life don't require money, travel, or a complicated wellness routine.
