Outside My Mind/4-19-2026/Petty Murphy - Smoke DZA
*does quick check to make sure she’s not following me so i can get this petty post off*
alright alright fuckers, gather ‘round. it’s 10:19 on a wednesday night and i’m not turning up for tonight. so being petty on tumblr is my entertainment. and with christmas two days away, let me openly refute some bullshit i just saw on my fb feed.
it goes, and i’m paraphrasing here: “just a reminder, not everyone can afford gifts for their friends and family and gloating about the things you got for people isn’t fun for everyone.”
my my my.
given the context of like, 2015 and the sheer amount of showoffy gloaty things people do on a constant basis every fucking day all fucking year round when it’s NOT the holidays, i actually believe that christmas IS the time where you’re allowed to show off.
like motherfuckers, don’t let anyone shame you for buying nice gifts for your family. it’s taken me years to be able to spend good money on gifts and though i’m not predisposed to “gloating” myself (i despise instagram and snapchat, etc)... IF i was that type of person, i certainly wouldn’t heed what any person has to say about it!
furthermore (and this is the pettiness in me) ion mean no harm but there’s always gonna be broke people that’s around that’s talking that “money isn’t everything” shit and that “anti-capitalism” blah blah blah “that’s not what the holidays are REALLY about” type shit. like i’m sorry but no. money is a blessing lol. just because people are less fortunate in the world don’t mean you can’t celebrate where YOU’RE at. let people enjoy their iphone 6ses and new gaming consoles and 4k tvs and even their bullshit ass selfie sticks. despite how sophisticated we’re “supposed” to be, humans still like shiny new objects.
obviously there’s a line between being obnoxious and being proud and blessed about your good financial standing, but for fuck sakes, don’t try to ruin Christmas by telling people they can’t celebrate because other people might be broke. Lol.
lol you know what...
