     If there’s one thing that’s managed to mess with her since beginning her journeying around the continent...it’s the vast gap in technology between her home village, and the others across their world. 

     Reika likes to think herself adaptable. She’s typically able to think quickly and make changes that keep her going. But sometimes advancements beyond her knowing throw all of that for a loop.

     When she and Ao visit Konoha for the first time in...well, a while, buildings tall enough to even need elevators are unsettling enough. Can buildings really reach that high? How do they not fall over?! Does the village have no wind, no earthquakes? But when they go in, a strange door that seems to make people vanish baffles them both until a local explains.

     In the end, however, she wants to try it. Stepping in, they find the array of buttons, and push the one aligned with the floor they want.

     But of course, it’s today of all days the damn thing gets stuck.

     At first, she figures their stopping means...they’ve arrived! But the doors don’t open. Not even when she pushes a button that looks to do just that. Brow furrowing, she tries a few others before pounding on the doors.

     They don’t budge, and no one answers.

     “Oh come on, you’ve got to be kidding me...!” Temper immediately flaring, Reika starts looking for a way to more...brute force their way out. “Guess we should have taken the stairs after all...Ao, see any other way out of this thing?”

     Busteddd.

     “...uh...?” Well, the last thing she expected to see out the front door at this hour is Nawaki. And clearly the last thing he expected to see is her trying to sneak out of the house. Granted...the front door isn’t the best way to do that. But no one was supposed to be here!

     “N...nothing.” It’s a bald-faced lie and they both know it. But she can’t think up an alibi fast enough. Her plan had been to meet her new boyfriend (not for anything bad! She’s not THAT irresponsible - they were just planning on watching the stars). But apparently that’s now a bust.

     Guilt quickly wells up in her stomach. “P-please don’t tell anyone, okay? I-I’ll go back to bed! I promise!”

“There’s more then just zombies to undead kind, Zatanna, although it is questionable if they maintain their emotions when they’re brought back. If they do, then I guess it’s possible... it would probably be one touch starved relationship though.”
