Pfoho is my Belovèd House because...

...of her classy, peaceful and understated library, her homey and bright double-decker dhall, and her badass weight room.

...sometimes all my roommate and I need is deep-fried mozzarella sticks from the quad grill and to play a game of pool right next to it in her beautiful JCR.

...for all it's said by quadlings and mocked by riverlings, coming home at the end of the day gives the day such lovely closure.

...when someone comes to visit from other universities, I can walk them up through the quad lawn to admire both the lawn's beauty and Pfoho's gorgeous facade.

...in the worst of a hurricane or a storm, I don't want to walk outside Pfoho to get to the DHall, and I don't have to either--almost all of Pfoho is under the same roof.

...because I met some of my closest friends in the world in her, because I wouldn't trade her for anything, because she's my Harvard home. :-)

Pfoho Pflove

because we have wonderful staff and huge rooms and lots of windows.  and because the view out said windows is fantastic in any kind of weather :)

I pflove my pfohome

I love pfoho because it is the only place at Harvard that pfeels like a home. Pfohome. Because of the way the house is designed, everything is centralized near the dining hall, meaning whether you're going to the pflibrary, offices, classrooms, to the shuttle stop, or really anywhere you have to go in the house you have to pass by the dining hall. There are ALWAYS people around-- pfamiliar pfaces that make it pfeel like home. There is nothing better than physically removing yourself from the Harvard bubble and coming back to the 'burbs everyday. Harvard is my home only because pfoho is my home. I love you pfoho.

I love the quad because....

There are no tourists, no homeless people, no sirens, it's so peaceful out here....except at night.  Then the whole quad is rockin' from the music from all the wild, crazy awesome parties that make river people jealous WOOT!  (We can do that, because we have such fantastic suites :) )

The lawn is great!  People play frisbee, have snowball fights, or just lie around when the weather is nice.  Some nights, I like to go out and just lie on the ground, looking up at the sky.  You can see SO MANY stars compared to some of the brighter areas of Cambridge. The meteor show this year was SO SICK.

The yard is only a fun walk/shuttle ride away (THERE ARE ALWAYS SO MANY CUTE SQUIRRELS AND CHILDREN IN THE COMMON), but the Quad is also conveniently located close to all the fun shops and delicious restaurants of Porter Square.  Want some Panera?  Want to make some awesome crafts?  Michael's is right there!  Want to go to a real live grocery store?  You can do all that in Porter!

Also, you are just a hop, skip and a jump from another exciting place, Davis, and you can walk a mile to Alewife if you want to see a movie for cheap!  :)

You're right by the SOCH, which hosts lots of fun events and movies, PLUS you have all the perks of all the Quad houses...Cabot cafe, the Quad grill, Currier dance studio...Plus there are pianos everywhere!  It doesn't matter which house you live in, you can take advantage of all of them! 

Last but not least, you have QUAD SOLIDARITY.  Quadlings stick together.  Nothing can beat that! ;)  <3

Housing Day is awesome, and if you get placed in the Quad, you should know that it is awesome, and you will love it!!!  <3 <3

Why I Pflove Pfoho

I should probably start by saying I loved college more than anyone I have ever met.  And Pfoho probably had the biggest impact on how much I loved college.  The community in Pfoho is amazing.  I often didn’t make plans to meet roommates or friends in the dining hall because I knew there would always be really awesome people to eat with.  Coming home to Pfoho at the end of the day was like coming home.  It is awesome to be able to leave the hustle and bustle of the square and the stress of the academic buildings and go home.  I bawled my eyes out on housing day when my blocking group got Pfoho.  Now I couldn’t feel more differently.  Thanks Pfoho for three great years!

I PfLove Pfoho!

I Pflove Pfoho because it always feels like home. After spending a long day at the River running errands, going to class, or attending meetings, I am always happy to ride the shuttle/walk back to the Quad. Something about physically travelling away from the noise and bustle of classes and other obligations is very calming. Also, because Pfoho is a relatively small house and the dining hall always feels open and brightly lit, there are always people hanging out, doing psets, or studying at almost any hour of the day or night. Pfoho has a great sense of community, and that's one of the many reasons why I Pflove Pfoho.
