India’s Pension Watchdog – Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA)
New Delhi. Established 23 August 2003. Regulates the National Pension System (NPS) and Atal Pension Yojana (APY). NPS has 2.20 crore subscribers and ₹16.5 lakh crore in assets.
APY has 7.49 crore subscribers. Also supervises pension fund managers, record‑keeping agencies and points of presence. For millions of Indian workers, PFRDA ensures their retirement savings are safe.
