Nothing much for me to comment on the over the top ballet-fu, BUT THIS PART HAVE ME SHOOK. I FORGOT ABOUT THIS.

Didn’t much care for the flashback scene with Tuxedo Kamen, so I didn’t screenshot them. It’s a nice narrative choice to see Usagi’s thinking about the more romantic moments she had with Tux while Luna was all frowning and “hmm”ing at herself in Ami’s bag, pondering about what Tux said about being enemies. Anyway, very pretty ending scene in the sunset! This concludes PGSM act 4 liveblogging! I shall start the 1st omake Oshiyokiyo 01-04 when I next liveblog! Gonna go to bed now, thank you all for bearing with me while I was liveblogging really slow tonight!
Rei is actually such a sweet heart. The fact that she’s offering to Usagi that basically anything she’d be down for is such a big step, and of course we immediately get the PJ party idea from the bunny. Turns out even Rei would succumb to Usagi’s pouting.
Also, love that after ending the conversation with Usagi, Rei actually looked at Ami while they walked side by side. It does honor that fact that Rei KNOWS who she has to thank for her current predicament!
On a very different note, I honestly didn’t remember that Usagi’s alternative suggestion was a PJ party, even though it does make A LOT of sense. It’s really Interesting to recall this info because a PJ party was indeed what happened in Act 5, except it was between Naru, Usagi and Ami. You’d assume that if Usagi is going to have a PJ party with Rei, Ami would definitely be invited as a part of it too. Given in Act 5 we see Ami being so stressed at the PJ party, it would suggest that by the time Act 5 occurred, the PJ party Usagi suggested doing with Rei hasn’t happened yet. OR, it may have happened, but Rei’s presence made sure Ami-chan wouldn’t be overwhelmed, but without Rei and only Naru, Ami-chan was still stressed by the idea of interacting with non-Senshi peers.
Either way, it’s just really cool to see more possible lead ups to Act 5. I was impressed by how many moment in Act 4 seem to have tie in element to Act 5!
I LOVE THIS SCENE SO MUCH! It’s so beautifully composed especially with the sunset too! It’s just gives off the perfect feel of a conclusion to the episode’s story!
Usagi’s singing getting Ami to join in too, something Ami WOULD NOT have done before Act 2, when she used to hides the fact that she enjoy Minako’s songs.
Rei is just so adorable here! I think this is where it shows me that Rei is now FULLY ready to accept what friendship with Ami and Usagi would entail. Yes, we have the verbal cues later too, but this is so much more meaningful. Again, Rei’s an “action speak louder than words” person, she has established the fact she hates singing already, and obviously she knows friendship with Usagi means a lot of singing in her life, but she’s found another enjoyment to that despite not enjoying the prospect of singing herself. She is now willing to find ways to adapt to the friendship and enjoy herself even if Usagi’s doing something she doesn’t necessarily personally enjoy.
Ami is so happy to see Rei waving the stick to the rhythm of their singing, showing interest and whatnot! Ami’s experience in easing into friendship has so much parallel to Rei’s and I think that itself makes Ami not only much more attuned to Rei’s thoughts and feelings, but also appreciative of the challenges and barrier Rei would need to cross and IS already crossing in order to open up to them.
This is still something that Usagi still needs growing up in. She sees Rei finding ways to enjoy herself and immediately thinks maybe Rei changed her mind, and so offers another Karaoke party, not realizing the boundaries Rei still has in place. Sadly that only sets her up to failure, where Rei simply says no to the Karaoke idea, though she’s nicer about it now.
Mamoru.... how do you know it’s wrong? Do you actually know what the crystal looks like???
Also, how are you NOT freaking out seeing a talking plushie? And why are you antagonizing a talking plushie????? lol
I’m grateful you have a high tolerance of supernatural crap, but I was expecting you to have some reaction, or make some smartass comment about it given your characterization!
This is actually really cute. Usagi just starts talking about what happened, rambling as if not realizing Rei and Ami would have seen EVERYTHING.

Usagi is no better, but at least it’s first name not family name. Knowing someone’s family name make it so easy for one’s information to be found out in Japan esp with their phone book system.
This has to be my BIGGEST pet-peeve in the PGSM series, cheesy ballet-fu be damned! You bet I’m writing something about this in my PGSM fanfic to address this absurdity.
Mamoru... you can charm anyone with that smile of yours. Just stop being a jerk and Usagi will literally fall head over heels for you in civilian form.
