My lips tasted of fruit and herb. And as the color of the fruit changed into a deep hue of blue and green, I realized the weight of the moment. The symbolism that fruit carried would present itself all throughout the night. And as I downed each swig and dragged each puff, I realized how separated I had become from the controls. I was essentially trapped in a wobbling meat machine six feet off the ground that had the potential to lose balance any second.
