The Finale - Today was one of those days I woke up with anxiety. I thought to myself: "What the hell are you thinking pursuing a career in Illustration and Art & Cultural Programming. This is by far the craziest decision you've made in your life! You should just quit now...not too many people know...go get a job and be safe again...its the responsible thing to do." I almost got paralyzed by those thoughts so I decided to finish this picture, but still the anxiety was still there. Then I called the amazing @hiphopluvchild, she said be vulnerable and share your story even if its scary. This is the first pic I drew after taking a year long break from fashion illustration. For a long time I struggled with why that was the gift that was given to me. Then in 2013 I was sitting at a desk at @afropunk headquarters and I got so inspired by all of the beautiful and colorful people that came in and out of the office and it became so clear that the one thing that I could do to express my love for culture is to draw.
