first of all, thank you for your summary of the chapter as always <3 ~ now, *takes a deep breath* WHAT WAS THAT?! is there any possibility that this "Sakae-kun" a.k.a. Ashiya's father is in any way related to Abeno? Going by the kanji in the names, can Aoi and Sakae-kun be the same person? that would explain a lot about Ashiya (and why Abeno got interested bc of his last name, what if it's true and Abeno knows about this?). Also this girl, presumably Ashiya's sister omg THIS WAS TOO MUCH !
Thank you!! This chapter was a big shock for me, too.
That’s definitely another possibility we can take away from the chapter! The ones I’ve seen so far are:
Sakae = Aoi
Sakae is related to Aoi
Sakae’s possible family is related to Aoi
We also don’t know Abeno’s real connection (as in, whether they were related) to Aoi yet, so there’s still more info we need to know. The thing is that so far in the series, Aoi has only been written in katakana アオイ like so, it’s only from a meta view that we know there’s a connection since a kanji that is pronounced “aoi” is present in the kanji for “sunflowers”, which were important. But Sensei’s always been pretty good with thematic naming, so I think we can definitively say it’s not a coincidence.
I’d say Abeno and the Legislator being interested in “Ashiya”’s name is likely from “Sakae” too. I wonder how Abeno would react to hearing Sakae’s name...
