okay but have some phil traits i love:
• caring. so many fucking things apply to this category, i’m just gonna name some examples that come to mind: when he brought Dan up to celebrate his Boncas, just because he loves him and they help each other not only emotionally but professionally (the fact that they are perfect business / entertainment partners and best friends at the same time makes me believe in true love), when he helped a fellow youtuber learn the dance moves in a youtube rewind, his thoughtful photo marshmallow gifts, how he waited for dan to come out before he came out, how he respects and truly appreciates his viewers’ gifts and input (his past unboxing videos of everything viewers sent him!) (the fact that he still makes a point to respond to fans on twitter despite being a creator with a gigantic following) his thoughtful language that always takes into account the experiences of others in an easy to understand way, the list is incredibly long,,,
• clever. mans has a fancy college degree in linguistics and a ton of random facts up his sleeve. i was just watching the impossible quiz series (silly i know but seriously!) and he is so incredible at thinking in an abstract way.
• determined/hard working. not only has he starred in multiple feature films but also a game show, radio show, two tours, he’s the author of two books and has won countless awards for his content! not to mention two games and consistent stream of videos
• creative. how many honking trends/tags has this man started??? you really can tell his mind just works in a very unique and beautiful way through his content. his merch! sick! his old sketches/build your own adventure series (es?) mind blowing! his lil video game from when he was young! innovative!
• optimistic. i have been watching phil’s videos since 2011, and the amount of times he has made me smile or laugh out loud or feel less alone is just bonkers. he knows how to handle very complex, hard to swallow concepts in a way that is light hearted but also impactful! he sees the good in almost any situation, sharing his own little embarrassments and mistakes to make others feel less anxious about their own. his videos have truly offered me both an escape and a way to subconsciously face whatever has been going on in my life by learning through the example of a remarkable role model.
• strong willed. this may seem a bit contradictory to phils’s light hearted, sometimes shy nature but when you think about it this man has allowed himself to grow in a way that is true to his roots while also expanding his own outlook throughout more than 10!! years!! under the public eye. that is something that is so rare for an entertainer especially with the negative sides being famous on the internet comes with.
anyway, tldr: phil trash #2 is an alright spot to be let me tell you <3
