Modern Days with Demonic Solutions!
Paved with Malicious Intent (PWMI) is a Modern Day AU in which Sebastian, to learn more about humans—specifically emotionally disturbed ones—to make manipulating even more interesting when he hunts down adults to make contracts with.
It also helps to pass the time; he's always found it interesting to play different roles, and he always gives 666% in whatever hobby he picks up.
Sebastian runs an antique/oddities shop as well. He's rich, because of course a demon as long-lived as him is, but keeps a lot of his money on the down-low. Human empathy for a 'hardworking man opening his home for children' is in high supply, and he can feed off it.
So many youth in foster care are... changed, in a way. Their sorrow, their confusion, their anger; it's delicious. Sebastian doesn't find the children themselves interesting, just the turmoil in their souls. Even their trust can be filling; a child leaving from his home, mistakenly believing that they were cared for.
No child has ever been difficult for him; how could they be, they're just weaker humans.
But then Agni calls him to place a foster; this boy, a Ciel Phantomhive, has been in the system for only just under a month and has been kicked out by every single family he had been placed in. Too difficult, the adults who cry. Too dangerous.
Pathetic. These humans knew what difficult souls they would be welcoming to their care, yet this one boy is bending them out of shape? He's just 10, for fuck's sake. So yes of course Sebastian would be glad to foster little boy.
How could he have known that this choice would change his life, the the life of Ciel Phantomhive, forever?

tl;dr - Sebastian is a demonic foster parent who ends up loving the child in his care and eventually plans to adopt him.
Literally "I hate all humans" to "this is my fucking SON and honestly he can do as much wrong as he'd like <3"
It's not going to have the most realistic version of foster care, but then in a story with demons, grim reapers, and who knows what else, some liberty is to be expected.
I'm working on the first chapter right now, and I hope to have said first chapter posted before July. I don't want to make promises, but I do really, really want to bring more Dadbastian to the world lol
