"You're the idea of a pharmacist from hell I hope I never get," a TRA told me in response to mentioning I'm a pharmaceutical sciences student, as I said that I didn't respond bc I was typing between lectures.
How often do you get to choose your pharmacist? I suppose you could stop going to a specific pharmacy if you don't like the pharmacist, but I'm reality, howamy people are going to do that? People choose pharmacies based on convenience (which I suppose if I'm not liked enough, this hypothetical person might be willing to forego it and go elsewhere), what pharmacy hours are, what pharmacy even has your medication in stock, and what insurance pharmacies take. And if you're inpatient, well, even less of a choice behind what pharmacist you get.
In addition, the ideal pharmacist is aware of all the side effects of your medication, including short term and long term. A pharmacist is ideally aware of all your physical conditions so I know what meds would react to it. You'd think same people would want a pharmacist that knows damn well the metabolic and hormonal HRT (because let's be so fr, this is why I got this.), know how it interacts, and has other suggestions on how to handle dysphoria as opposed to life changing and potentially ruining hormone and blocker cocktails.
"You're the pharmacist from hell I hope I never get." Of course I am. Because I'm not just going to grin and cheerfully give you whatever needs you want.
Nightmare, really.
