"Shh l think I heard something" with modern phasma pretty please
A/N: I can always count on you for the Phasma requests! Thanks for the prompt! Hope you like it!
“Okay, that wasn’t so bad,” you said, relaxing into Phasma’s side as the credits rolled. It had been her turn to pick a movie, and she’d decided an old horror flick—a classic apparently—that she brought from her house.
“Not that bad?” she repeated.
“Yeah,” you said. Your voice shook a little, but you hoped she didn’t notice. “I thought it would be a little scarier, actually. I only jumped once.”
Phasma chuckled, though it wasn’t as cute as it usually was. You knew she was making fun of you, but you still loved the way you could feel her laugh rumbling through her body as you leaned up against her. It would never get old.
“Y/N, you only jumped once because you stopped watching.”
You sat up quickly, offended. “I—I did not stop watching.”
“Sure.” Phasma crossed her arms in front of her chest. You hated it, but smug looked damn good on her.
“Admit it,” Phasma said, leaning towards you. “You were scared.”
“I was not—“
“Shh,” Phasma interrupted. “Shh, I think I hear something.” She reached out a hand to place on your shoulder, as if steadying you would keep you quiet. You didn’t mind, though. It felt oddly comforting.
“What?” you whispered.
She shook her head, as if to silence you, and her eyes looked up and around for the threat.
“What is it?” you asked again, a little less steady this time. Your heart was shaking your entire body.
“I think…” A devilish grin cut across her face. “I think that’s the sound of me being right.”
“Phas! That is not funny!”
Before you could move to retaliate, she had pinned you to the couch, her body hovering above yours.
“Oh, please,” she said. “You love me.”
Both of your expressions went blank at the realization of what she said. You felt Phasma start to move off of you, but you placed your hand behind her head, keeping her in place, her face just above yours.
“Yeah,” you said, and leaned up to kiss her nose. “I think I do.”
I don't know if you're still taking prompts from the list but number 7 with phasma x female!reader and maybe the reader sitting in her lap please
7. I’ll keep you warm.
Thanks for the request! I had this sitting in my inbox and was overcome to write some modern Phasma. So here’s a little high school au (which may or may not be based on my own high school experience in part, minus the girlfriend). Hope you like it!
(This is an old prompt list I am not longer taking prompts from. Just cleaning out my inbox.)
You hated winter. Which was…unfortunate. You and your friends’ lunch spot was (and had been for 2 years) outside the cafeteria on a small piece of walkway. There were no tables or seats, just the cold concrete and one particularly unstable stone bench.
Phasma loved that bench. Probably because no one else did, so she got it all to herself.
It was an exceptionally cold day. The wind was blowing bitterly. You opened your thermos of soup and immediately hovered your hands above it, soaking up whatever warmth you could before it was swept away.
Everyone ate quickly and quietly. Between bites of soup you surveyed your friends. Rey had brought a blanket outside with her and mumbled stuff about a research paper as she chewed. Rose didn’t even appear to have a lunch and was more concerned with the pages of homework in front of her she was tying to wrangle in the wind. The other handful of your friends hadn’t even bothered to come outside today.
Then there was Phasma, who just happened to be looking at you each time you glanced up at her.
You pulled up the hood of your sweatshirt to brace against the wind and Phasma’s eyes. Next time you looked up, Rey was gone and Rose was packing up her things. She scurried off without another word, only doubling back to grab a stray paper.
It used to be easy to be alone with Phasma. She was your oldest friend in the group; she was all you had for a few months. Then the others came along, provided sort of a contrast to her, made her stand out a little more. That is, more than she already did with her towering height and brilliant hair. It was easy to ignore how you felt when your other friends were around, distracted by conversation, but being alone was overwhelming.
You cleared your throat and made a show of picking up your thermos. “I, uh. I’m going inside,” you said, standing up.
“You could stay. Keep me company,” Phasma replied, leaning over to make eye contact beneath your hood.
“That’s… that’s silly,” you replied softly as you gathered your things and stood up completely. “Come inside, Phas. It’s freezing.”
She reached out and tugged on the sleeve of your sweatshirt, two sharp pulls to coax you towards her. Her presence was heavy, gravitational in a way that you’d never admit. You went towards her willingly, giving in to the urge you always felt.
She tugged at the snaps of her jacket as you approached, splaying it open wide. She had a sweatshirt on underneath as well. No wonder she wasn’t complaining about the cold.
You stopped abruptly. “What’re-”
“I’ll keep you warm. Come here,” she said, nodding.
“You want me to…”
“Yes.” Her voice was solid and final. She didn’t elaborate.
When you didn’t move yet again, she leaned over quickly, wrapping her arms and jacket around your waist and pulling you towards her.
You squealed involuntarily, half in shock, half in happiness. You landed awkwardly on Phasma’s lap, just as she intended, and the bench tottered beneath the two of you. Instantly you tensed up, grasping for purchase around Phasma’s waist.
“It’s alright,” she whispered against the hood of your sweatshirt. You reached up to pull it down. The shock of Phasma’s eyes so close to yours made you shiver.
“It’s alright,” she repeated, tightening her arms and the jacket around you. “I’ve got you.”
For the headcanons dating high school au for phasma (I hope that makes sense) you're honestly one of the only people that writes for her well in my opinion
Ah, thank you so much!! I really love writing for her. I really appreciate it! I know there’s not a lot of content out there for her x reader, so I’m glad I can fill a little hole in the fandom when I can.
(Note: his is a fem!reader.)
-Phasma would definitely make the first move. That’s not to say it would be quick.
-The two of you would be fast friends. She’d kind of force herself into your group of friends on her first day, boldly asking to sit at the lunch table with you and your friends, Kylo and Hux. After that, it would feel like she had always been there.
-You’d appreciate finally having another girl in the group. It was nice to have someone to get ready for homecoming with or sneak off to the bathroom with during class just to chat.
-Over the next few months, she’d start sitting closer and closer to you on the bench of the lunch table until one day you realized her knee was bumping into yours as she shifted in her seat. Hux saw the way you looked at her after that, raising his eyebrows knowingly, which you put an end to quickly with a swift kick to his shin.
-As the weather got colder, she’d lend you her jacket at lunch. (Varsity jacket, obviously. Phasma made the volleyball team.)
-It’s about that time when Kylo also begins to notice what’s going on. He was a little less coy about it than Hux, and asked Phasma - right in front of you, at lunch - who she was going with to the winter formal. “I don’t see why that’s any of your business,” she said before getting up to pick up her tray and go to class.
-That was also the day she didn’t ask for her jacket back, and it hung heavier and more obvious on your shoulders the further she walked away. (It would be an excuse to see you at the end of the day.)
-She’d refuse to take her jacket back as much as you try to convince her. She’d tug it more tightly around you and whisper, “How else will everyone know you’re mine?” Then she’d peck you on the forehead and ask you to the dance. (You’d say yes, of course.)
-Dating Phasma would make the two of you the talk of the school, at least for a week or so and as much as you might hate all the attention.
-As things calmed down, you’d get more and more comfortable together. Lunches would be nearly the same, just a little more hand-holding and a lot more teasing from Kylo and Hux.
-If you’d ever get self conscious or would feel out of place about your relationship, Phasma would be sure to make you feel better, telling you how much you mean to her… and also telling you how she’d be willing to kick anyone’s ass that had a problem with it. She’d always be incredibly protective of you.
-You’d begin to realize you saw the softest side of Phasma (and Hux and Kylo did too, only by association), but you liked it that way. She wasn’t a different person around you, just more herself.
-Having a girlfriend would make high school that much more bearable. Her jacket was pretty nice too.
Here’s some modern Phasma, because I apparently haven’t done that except for her brief stint in BMR!
Game night was finally and blessedly over. You never preformed very well at these sorts of things, typically coming in last place or dragging your team down, if you were lucky enough to get some help. But you kept coming, because, well… Phasma asked you to.
You’d hung back – discreetly, you thought – as people gathered their things, allowing everyone to leave before you. They weren’t far ahead of you; some were still hanging out near the bottom of the steps by the time you reached the door, but it was enough to get a moment with Phasma. Just one moment alone. Finally.
“Thanks for having me,” you said. Your voice was a little weaker than you’d hoped for it to me.
“Of course,” she responded, tone steady and matter-of-fact as always.
There was something there, though, in her expression that wasn’t as familiar, not as confident. She bit her lip innocently, and her eyes drifted over your shoulder and around her yard to survey the situation.
Something felt off and you didn’t want to overstay your welcome, so you decided to move at that point, slowly taking a step towards the stairs. “Well, I’ll –”
Her arm shot out quickly, and she gently grasped your arm in her hand.
“Stay here tonight?” Phasma whispered.
You pursed your lips in a weak attempt to cover up a smirk. “Are you asking, or…”
She dragged her fingers along the inside of your bare arm until her hand found yours and she laced your fingers between hers. “Stay here tonight,” she said. “Please.”
The porch light cast an ethereal glow around her head, catching the brilliant white of her perfectly misplaced hair. You thought of what it would feel like to run your hands through the strands, if its softness would match what you’d imagined, or how it would look in bed or when she woke up.
She squeezed your hand in an attempt to center your thoughts, as if she knew your mind was wandering. Hers must have been, too.
“Well,” you began, taking a step closer to her. “Since you said ‘please.’”
At your words, a beaming smile lit up Phasma’s face. She tugged on your hand, brining you even closer, and attempted to stop smiling as she leaned in to kiss you, brief and chase and tight-lipped. You parted from her, just barely, enough that you couldn’t focus on her face and could still smell sweet amaretto on her breath.
“Phas,” you whispered, not knowing what your next words would be. But it didn’t matter. Her hands were on your face and her lips were pressed against yours again, more urgently this time. There was a warm slip of her tongue over your lips before a noise jolted the two of you apart.
Before you turned around, you knew what was going on. “We have an audience, don’t we?”
She didn’t need to answer you. Someone behind you hooted again, the noise accompanied with a slow clap this time.
Phasma stepped around you in a quick movement. “Fuck off, Kylo! You too, Hux!”
The door had barely closed behind you when Phasma’s hands were on you again, and her laugh vibrated through her lips when someone outside honked the horn as they drove off into the distance.
Can I request 7 and 38 for Phasma x f!Reader? Thank you for you time and have a nice day! :D
7. “I’ll keep you warm.”38. “All I wanted was for you to be happy.”
Thank you so much! I am a sucker for Phasma x fem!reader, and I wish there was more content for it! I’m glad you requested it.
I do have to note that I have not read the Phasma novel. I’m still trying to get my hands on a copy. That being said, this is very likely not canon Phasma. The way I’ve written her is very similar to how I wrote her in my “A Captain and a General” series, with a few slight changes to her personality that I’ve been able to figure out since then. If you liked my other series, you should like this.
Also! I received an anonymous request months ago for an angsty Phasma f!reader fic with this exact situation. I’ve been wanting to get to it for ages, and wanted to make it a multi-part fic, but this will have to do. I’m pretty pleased with it.
Again, thanks for requesting! Enjoy!!
No warnings, just more angst. Like 80% angst and 20% angsty fluff.
You knew it. You knew you shouldn’t have gotten attached. But what were you supposed to do? Not make friends? The whole point of the mission was to blend in, get intel, and get out. You’d done the first two parts well enough. Maybe too well. But now it was time for part three. Time for extraction.
You stuffed your comlink back into vent in the bathroom of your quarters, slamming the grate shut. General Organa’s words looped through your brain, clear as day, as if she was standing behind you.
“You’ve served the Resistance well, Y/N. Now it’s time to come home.”
Home. You shook your head trying to clear out your thoughts as you climbed back in bed. Home. You had never really thought of D'Qar as home. But it wasn’t bad. Surely warmer than Starkiller Base. You were convinced you’d feel the chill in your bones for the rest of your life, deep and biting.
You closed your eyes, willing yourself to fall asleep, but your mind was too busy. The general’s words sloshed around your head, swirling with thoughts of everything you had to do before you left tomorrow and remembering where the rendezvous point was. The thoughts and the cold sent shivers across your body, tense and aching. You’d never sleep like this.
You threw the thin covers off of your body decidedly, and pulled your boots on over your pajama pants, shrugged on your coat, and headed out the door.
The halls were empty. Rightly so; it was late. You hurried quickly down the halls. You’d memorized the route by now. You’d walked it at least a hundred times.
A few minutes later you were staring at a sleek metal door that looked like all the others. But this was her door.
You knocked lightly. Almost too lightly. You had barely heard it. She was probably asleep too; she’d have to be up in a few hours to maintain her tight schedule.
You were about to turn away when the door slid open, the noise echoing through the eerily empty corridor.
“Y/N.”
“Phasma.”
She ran a hand through her hair, not that hair like hers was ever out of place. No doubt she’d been asleep. She tried to blink away the evidence of that a few times. “What can I -”
“I couldn’t sleep,” you blurted out. “And I was cold.”
Phasma squinted at you and sighed. Her lips began to upturn just slightly at the corners. You wouldn’t have noticed it if you hadn’t memorized that scowl over the last few months.
She poked her head out into the hall, passing her body close to yours. You didn’t move. She stole a quick glance around, and, noticing no one, jerked her head towards her quarters. “Come in.” She allowed a smile to briefly cross her lips.
Anxious, you slipped past her quickly and headed for her bed. You took off your boots and coat before she even made it to her bedroom. The bed was still warm with her body heat where she’d been lying minutes ago.
The blankets were pulled up to your neck before she’d caught up with you. “Any room for me in there?”
Unspeaking, you rolled over to the far side of the bed and felt the mattress depress under Phasma’s weight behind you.
“This is certainly unexpected,” Phasma said in your ear as she curled up around you.
You closed your eyes in an attempt to ground yourself. You couldn’t let youd mind wander to tomorrow or the conversation you just had. “I, uh, just needed some company.”
“Is everything alright?” she asked. She pulled on your shoulder, coaxing you to roll over to face her.
You rolled over willingly, but snuggled into her neck to hide your face. “Yep.” Your voice sounded strained and forced, so you added, “It is now.”
You inhaled deeply. All the scents you took in were standard issue. But they were so undeniably Phasma. Even when you smelled them in your quarters, she always came to mind. As you exhaled, your breath fanned across the exposed area of her collarbone, and you leaned in and place a gentle kiss on the pale skin.
She hummed in content, but the noise was almost inquisitive. She gripped you tightly around your body and brought her other arm across to secure you there. “May I ask you something?”
You nodded against her.
She sighed heavily, lifting the parts of your body that were resting against her chest. You could hear her heartbeat quicken beneath the ear that was pressed against her skin. You hadn’t ever known Phasma to be flustered. Even during the more intimate encounters you’d had with her, you’d never seen so much as a dusting of blush on her cheeks.
“Are you-.” She stopped, swallowing. “Are you leaving me?”
Kriff.
You tensed up immediately and tried to sit up, but her grip around you only tightened.
Kriff. She’s going to kill me. She’s going to kill me and no one will know.
You opened your mouth but couldn’t articulate anything, neither the truth nor a lie.
“Please be honest with me.”
Phasma’s voice was even more pained now. She knew. She had to know. Even worse than her knowing would be her thinking that any of this wasn’t real, when everything you had felt for her had been anything but forced.
“Yes,” you managed to say.
“They’re calling you back, aren’t they?”
You pulled away quickly this time, before she could contain you. You moved away from her on the bed, but your back was up against the wall.
“Y/N, please.”
She sat up to reach out towards you, but you shuffled across the foot of the bed and hopped off before she could reach you.
You scooped up your boots and left your jacket, tripping over yourself to get to the door. You had to get out. Get back to your room. Get the comlink. Move up the extraction. You had to get out. You had to get out now.
The noises around you were muffled, far away. You think you heard your name, sharp and clipped and pleading. Your socked footsteps sounded so slow. The door seemed to far away.
A flash of white smeared your vision, and by the time you reached the door, Phasma was standing in front of it.
You dropped your boots and began to push against Phasma, landing soft punches on her muscular body. Within seconds, Phasma’s chilly, bony hands were clasped against your wrists, holding them in front of you.
“Y/N!”
You pulled against her hands, but you were no match for her. You barely moved in her grasp.
“Listen to me,” she commanded. Her bright eyes were pained, staring deeply into yours, as if she was trying to communicate in other ways. “You’re not in danger.”
There was a strangely calming effect to looking at Phasma. She was so brilliant. When in uniform, her armor shone brightly, commanding attention and admiration. Underneath, her skin and hair were bright as stars, her eyes like ice. It was half the reason you’d fallen - stupidly fallen - for her, for a First Order captain.
You clenched your jaw but relaxed your arms. Phasma didn’t let go. “You knew. That I’m…” You couldn’t finish. You couldn’t admit it. Part of you hoped she didn’t know, and you didn’t want to give it away yourself.
“That you’re a spy.” She nodded. “I’ve known. For a while.”
Your eyes fell to the ground. You couldn’t face her anymore. “Why?” you asked. You didn’t need to elaborate. She knew what you meant. Why am I still here? Why didn’t you turn me in? Why am I still alive?
She let go of your wrists, but you didn’t move away. Her hands felt like ice against your face as she cupped it in her grip. “All I wanted was for you to be happy.”
You raised your eyes to meet her cautiously. Warmth pricked beneath your eyelids. You knew if you blinked you’d release the tears that had built up there.
“You were happy with me, right?”
You nodded weakly, but found your words this time. “Am. I am happy with you.”
Phasma stared at you for a beat before slowly moving in to meet your lips with hers. Her tongue made its way past your lips, exploring and teasing like it had so many other times. But it all felt different now. When she pulled away, her teeth dragged across your bottom lip ravenously.
She rested her forehead against yours. “Let’s get some sleep, alright?”
Phasma guided you back to her bed, her hand on your lower back. You slid in and she climbed in behind you, and you curled up as you had been minutes ago, as if nothing had happened.
“How did you know?”
Phasma let out a short, clipped laugh, as if suddenly recalling a fond memory. “I saw you one morning, while I was heading to the hangar bay. I knew I had never seen you before; I would have remembered.” She paused, tugging you closer to her. “And I wanted to know who you were. So, I began to ask around.”
You winced. You hated how embarrassingly obvious the whole situation was. “Alright. I get it.”
“Oh, no,” Phasma laughed. “You have to suffer through the entire thing, just like I did.”
You rolled your eyes, knowing she couldn’t see you. “Fine.”
“I asked around. And no one seemed to be able to give me an answer. I began to search the databases for your file. I found one picture and a rank explanation. No background, no medical files. Even Hux couldn’t explain the insufficient information.”
You chuckled. “Hux.”
“See? You know by now. Fools, the lot of them.”
She paused, no doubt reminiscing.
“By the time I had figured it out for myself, a few days had already passed, and -”
“The training room showers,” you interrupted, recalling where you’d first laid eyes on Phasma.
“The training room showers,” she repeated in agreement. “You posed no threat to me, and I figured you’d be gone soon enough. That someone else would find you out. I clearly underestimated the capabilities of my superiors.”
“And here we are,” you whispered.
“Yes.” Her voice was seriously suddenly, jolting you back to reality. “When do you leave?”
“Tomorrow.” There was no use lying. Whether you told her or not, you’d be gone either way.
“I’ll miss you,” Phasma said. The softness of her words struck you.
You closed your eyes, and a warm tear slipped down your cheek and absorbed into her shirt. “I’ll miss you too.”
Phasma breathed a heavy, shaky breath and pulled you closer. Her breathing evened out shortly, syncing with yours, and within minutes, the two of you drifted off to sleep.
When you woke up the next morning, Phasma’s side of the bed was empty and cold. You didn’t linger.
You found your boots and coat neatly stacked by the door. There was something draped over your boots. The fabric was black and heavy, a thick red stripe alone one edge. A note was attached.
A Captain and a General: Part 3 [Captain Phasma x Fem!Reader]
Summary: After a stressful first mission as General, Phasma comes to check on you.
Part 1 // Part 2
A/N: Sorry this took a while to get out. I wasn’t sure if there would be any more parts, but I had a request for some fluffy Phasma so I thought this would be perfect. Enjoy the finale!
Word count: 2,400+
"I believe we have a long day tomorrow, General."
Phasma's words rang through your head all day. Regretfully, she was right, as she always is.
Ren had a mission the next day, still trying to gain information - and revenge - after the destruction of the Starkiller Base. Phasma went along with him, her troops in tow.
And you? Well, you were stuck behind, pacing the bridge of the Finalizer. While this was a place you were familiar with, it was your first mission to handle since your assumption of the position. To say you were uneasy was a vast understatement.
You were incredibly capable. The Order would have never promoted you otherwise. You really had no worries about the actual mission, besides the usual jitters. As always, lives were on the line. There was ground to be gained and lost. But this was all standard. Things you had grown to expect.
But behind all the bustle of the morning - sending off the troops, everyone getting situated - your mind lagged and everything moved in slow motion. And not in a good way. It was distracting. Things were happening in real time, but you weren't processing them that way.
Before you knew it, boots were on the ground. Radars blipped with red and green dots. Incoming communications signaled locations troops. You stood silently on the bridge, watching over the organized commotion. It all seemed to be under control, Ren and Phasma holding their own.
You held your breath for a moment, trying not to think of Phasma on the battlefield. She was higher ranking, but you knew she'd be out there. That was just her way. You stared out the window, into the black of the open galaxy, held your breath and counted to five. Your exhale was ragged.
She'll be fine. You convinced yourself.
But soon the radar changed. Too many red dots, not enough green ones. Comm channels were overwhelmed. Someone needs help over there. Send a TIE over here.
It was controlled chaos no longer.
Something had to be done.
Slowly, your thoughts caught up with your surroundings. And you remembered you were the one that was supposed to be calling the shots.
"This has Ren written all over it," you mumbled to yourself. You spoke up to the officers, "This is foolish. We've already lost too many men." It was definitely the Knight's plan. Not how you would have preferred it to be done. "Tell them to retreat."
"General?"
"You heard me."
"But, The Commander ..."
"Now!"
You stared at the officer hesitating to initiate the comlink. They hadn't quite learned to take orders from you yet.
The slow motion began again. You felt yourself wanting to reach out to send the message yourself, but your body wasn't responding.
Then a familiar, metallic voice rang over the channel, finally bringing life back up to speed. "We've got what we need. We're pulling back." Phasma.
You sighed in relief, almost too loudly. "Very well." Your teeth drug across your bottom lip, trying not to show any emotion. That's what you were supposed to do, right? Be hardened? Stern?
"Notify me if anything changes."
"Yes, General."
Once you were sure the ships had lifted off, you left.
The blue light of your data pad softly illuminated your quarters. After today's incident - not that it went bad at all - you were determined to be more prepared next time. You easily realized why Hux had always been so pressed for sleep. Not only did you need to be concerned with efficiently commanding, but you had to do so with Ren's interference. You wanted to work with him; you knew how much Ren and Hux hadn't met eye to eye. You wanted this to be different. But it was going to be a long road.
Your eyes were dry from staring at the screen for so long. It must have been hours that you were hunched over your desk in your quarters. You couldn't bring yourself to use your office yet. It didn't seem right.
Sitting up straight, you stretched and yawned, your joints cracking from inactivity. Suddenly, a sound echoed in your stomach; you felt painfully hollow. The clock confirmed it was much too late to get anything from the mess hall, so you climbed in bed.
Just as your eyes closed, the hallway bustled with boots. The mission party had just returned. You'd already decided you would debrief the Commander in the morning. You had enough to discuss with him that doing so half-asleep wasn't an option.
You groaned, placing your pillow over your head. You just wanted an hour of sleep. Maybe two. You wouldn't be picky about it. Just something to take your mind off of this for a moment. A chance to rest.
Your thoughts stopped suddenly. You heard a noise. A knock. Removing the pillow from your head, you sat up quickly, blood rushing from your head. Maybe it was someone else's door down the hall. Or maybe a trooper dropped a blaster. It wouldn't be the first time.
You lay back down.
Knock, knock, knock.
This time it was louder, more prominent, and definitely at your door.
"Son of a...." you whispered to yourself. You slowly approached your door, your socks shuffling across the floor quietly. More loudly you said, "We're debriefing in the morning, Ren. Did you not get my-"
"It's me."
Phasma.
Your hand froze, inches from the door and your heart sank longingly into your gut. The desperation you felt was immense. Had you not had any restraint, you would have slid your door open at hyperspeed. You breathed heavily. You needed to control yourself.
You glanced in your mirror, trying to stall before opening the door. Stars, you couldn't let her see you like this. Disheveled was a good word to describe your current state. Your bun had fallen, but not completely. It hung low by your neck, loose pieces of hair falling into your face. You had undone the buttons of your uniform shirt and were wearing it more as a jacket now, your undershirt grabbing tight to your hot skin. The boots were long gone, kicked under your bed hours ago.
But you needed this, you needed a companion. Maybe more than sleep.
"Y/N?" she called from the hallway.
Your reaction was instant this time, hitting the panel a little too forcefully. There she was, leaning against your doorframe, with her tired eyes and her helmet hair and her plainclothes. But she looked perfect.
Snap out of it.
"Come in."
You sleepily strode over to your bed, allowing Phasma to enter your quarters. You sat on your bed where you were moments ago, patting the empty space next to you motioning for her to have a seat.
"Oh, no. I shouldn't. I won't be long. I just wanted to see how your day went."
Shock. Genuine shock was what you felt. It had been quite a long time since someone in the First Order had truthfully asked about you.
Which is why you lied. "It was fine."
Phasma sighed and tilted her head. Her nose creased as she narrowed her eyes at you. "You're lying."
Of course she could tell. She knew people inside and out. Her job made her this way, training and molding troopers, weeding out the weak links. The littlest emotion or behavior didn't slip past her. It couldn't.
Before you knew it, she was seated next to you. The mattress shifted under her weight, and your knee shifted along with it, bumping into hers. Neither of you moved.
You were close. This was no longer a casual encounter. Now you were truly concerned with your appearance, knowing now she could see every detail of you, every hair out of place, every second you'd spent worrying.
Her eyes bored into yours. But it wasn't intense. Then her eyes shifted. She was examining you visually, as if she was making sure every part of you was accounted for, as if you had been the one off at war, not her.
"You need sleep."
You wanted to be strong, or at least appear to be. "I'll sleep when I'm dead," you half-joked.
"Well, I'd prefer that not happen."
A smile barely tugged at your lips. It was sweet, but you weren't in the mood.
It was silent for a moment. You could hear her breathing, strong and deep. Your breaths were ragged, painfully shallow. She was the constant, the steadiness you were finally realizing you needed.
"I'm not cut out for this job. I can't be a general."
"Who told you this?"
"I -"
"Was it Ren? I swear to you I will-"
"No," you interrupted, your voice like ice. "No one said anything. Except me."
"Y/N..."
You sighed heavily, trying your best to disguise your hitched breaths. "No. You should have seen me out there. I was a mess. I was so overwhelmed. I - I didn't know what to do. I was worried about you. I was worried about the -"
"You were worried about me?"
Phasma's naïveté was endearing. It was so pure. Sure, she liked you, and could have assumed you returned the sentiment. But to actually hear that her wellbeing was your concern...
Her heart swelled a million times over.
Phasma smiled to herself, just slightly. You truly did a number to her emotions, and she tried not to mind it. It was just so strange to her, to have feelings for someone.
"What can I do?" she asked.
You silently shook your head. You stared down at the floor, keeping your eyes wide so the tears wouldn't fall. There wasn't much she could do. This was your own issue. It would be unfair to Phasma to get her involved.
"I could talk to Ren if you want. Put him in his place if he's your problem. I can get you some help. Some extra training. I'm established. It wouldn't be an issue. Really."
You shook your head again. That wasn't at all what you wanted, or needed.
"Can you just hold my hand?" Your voice was so low, you weren't even sure you'd made a sound.
"What was that?"
You groaned, running your hands across your face. "Stars," you whispered, to no one in particular. Your hands remained on your face, elbows landing on your legs.
You were better than this. At least it's what you told yourself. Within one day, you'd gone from ordering troops, or trying to, to melting into a puddle of emotions. Was it possible to be that duplicitous?
"How can I feel like this?" To Phasma's surprise, the voice was yours, not hers, but it was as if you were reading her mind. "I'm an absolute mess around you."
"Y/N."
Phasma took your hand into hers. Maybe she had heard you. Or maybe she was just being nice.
You kept your head turned away from Phasma. Your face twisted, eyebrows furrowing, trying to fight back the hot sensation beneath your eyes.
"Y/N. Look at me."
Sighing heavily, you bit the inside of your cheek, steeling yourself before you faced her. The blue-gray pools of her eyes engulfed you, deep and caring.
"You are a strong woman. I know that for a fact."
Heat rose to your cheeks, and you knew she could see it when a smile danced across her lips.
"You can do this. We can do this. Together, if you'd like."
"What are you saying?"
Phasma hummed to herself. You'd never truly seen her this flustered before. Her pale skin began to turn rosy, now, along the ridges of her cheeks. Her eyes searched the room for her next words before they finally landed back on yours. "Would you like to be my girlfriend?"
You inhaled quickly. Your mouth grew dry. The room was silent, except for a ringing in your ears, the white noise suddenly transitioning into the rushing sound of your heartbeat.
The light squeeze of Phasma's hand on yours brought you back into focus.
“Y/N?”
“Yes. Sorry. Yes. Yes, of course!”
Phasma let out a deep sign of relief, her shoulders loosening, and the expression on her face upturning. She may have quite literally been holding her breath.
“Wonderful,” she said with a slight smile. The way her lips curled, you could tell she was holding back. “Well, as I said, you need to get some rest. Take care of yourself.” Phasma squeezed your hand once more before standing to leave. “I’ll see you tomorrow, yes?”
You stood up next to her, trying to meet her, but falling a few inches short. “Of course.”
As she turned to walk out, Phasma chuckled. "Ren will have a field day with this.”
As she stood outside your door, you pointed as Phasma accusingly, a playful grin giving you away. "I have a meeting with Ren tomorrow morning. After. You can tell him after. I need his full attention."
“Understood.”
The two of you smiled at each other sheepishly, eyes meeting, then fluttering away, the motions repeating a few times. This was the inevitable and awkward part you couldn’t avoid. The part where you have to say goodbye, but you aren’t sure how.
You looked down at your socked feet, giving Phasma an out, a way to just walk away and end the awkwardness. The sound of her boots let you know she took the cue, but suddenly, the steps became louder, faster.
She was coming back.
Just as you were about to look up, Phasma was back at your door, her hand beneath your chin and pulling your face up to meet hers.
Her lips met yours. It was a quick, chaste peck. But you were able to understand more about yourself in that second than you had in the last few days. You felt the want in the way her soft lips pressed against yours. In the way your heart pounded against your ribcage so hard you thought it’d knock you over. There was promise in her kiss.
There would be more.
Pulling away, you chuckled.
“What is it?” Phasma asked. Her cheeks had turned a deep shade of crimson. You could only imagine yours had done the same.
“A captain and a general, huh?” you asked.
Phasma smiled, moving her hand from your chin to push your hair behind your ear. “A captain and a general.”
A Captain and a General: Part 2 [Phasma x fem!reader]
Summary: You and Phasma have a conversation over dinner after she asks you out, and you find out some interesting information.
Part 1
A/N: Y’all, I admit I struggled with some of the smaller intricacies of this part, but I hope yall like it. The next few parts will likely move the story along a little better.

You were lucky your date with Phasma had happened in the first place, honestly. Besides the fact that she had even asked you to dinner – something you were still trying to process – it was a miracle you were even both available tonight. You had gotten distracted with your new duties as General. You probably would have skipped dinner altogether if you hadn't had someone waiting on you. And Phasma waiting on anyone or anything was a feat.
You were aware of how regimented she was. She had a schedule to keep to, even for herself personally, aside from work. But it hadn't even bothered her that she wouldn't be eating on time.
She was waiting for you when you hurriedly walked into the dining hall, knowing you were likely late, too afraid to check the time. You easily picked her out of the crowd, her platinum hair glowing in the artificial light.
You froze in the entrance after you processed what you saw. She was out of her quarters without her helmet. As your heart began to race, you realized you hadn't even thought of the specifics of how this date was going to happen, much less a relationship, if that’s where this was going. You hadn't had time to be anxious about it with how busy you were. Suddenly, a flurry of questions popped into your mind. How would you be seen with her in public? She couldn't wear her helmet all the time. She had to eat, right? Then, suddenly you were worried you had inconvenienced her. Why was she walking around like this? Did she even want this?
"Y/N?" Phasma had gotten up and walked over to you, noticing you standing in the doorway. "Are you alright?"
You startled from your daze to look at her, and you began to feel at ease. Your shoulders loosened and you took a deep, yet hitched, breath. Not only was she not wearing her helmet, she had traded all of her indiscreet armor for drab First Order fatigues. She looked... normal.
"You... "
Phasma cut you off. "I figured it would be best if I blended in."
"You just look so naked without..."
You stopped yourself, realizing what you had said. Then you closed your eyes, embarrassed, recognizing how much worse you'd made the statement by bringing attention to it. You could feel the heat in your cheeks.
"You're quite adorable when you blush," Phasma said before she walked off toward the table.
You sighed heavily, trying to compose yourself for the second time today. It was going to be a long dinner if you kept this up.
As you sat down with your plates, you couldn't help but stare at her. It was a weird sight to see, an armor-less Phasma. She was still imposing, however, her height not an artificial advantage from the suit alone. The others in the hall didn’t seem to notice that their Captain was in their midst. Surely her presence would have changed the atmosphere, if they only knew.
Phasma noticed the way you were looking at her.
“What is it?” she asked.
"I just.... Are you sure no one knows who you are?"
She shook her head. "There's only two people on this ship that know who I am. You." She took a bite of her food. "And Ren."
Your gut did a freefall. You had completely forgotten about The Commander. The two of you weren’t on the best terms, not that he was on good terms with anyone, to your knowledge. But you definitely didn't want to get on his bad side. Especially now that you would have to deal with him a lot more as General. What if he found out you were sneaking around with the Captain? He would absolutely lose it. A man like him did not like fraternization. Something about “attachments,” you had heard.
Phasma quickly changed the subject, and dinner continued on, but all the while you couldn’t relax. Phasma did most of the talking, which you didn’t mind. Mostly about her work life; she had really known no other life besides that in the First Order. You’d ask a question every now and then. Just hearing her talk made your heart flutter in your chest, especially now that you could listen to her voice without her helmet.
Every now and then, you’d catch yourself looking over your shoulder or around the room, anxious for someone to point her out. Or for Ren, stars forbid, to walk in.
Your date proceeded without incident, however. Over the course of the dinner, awkward silences, mostly brought on by you, became less imposing. The quiet was mutually enjoyed. It seemed the both of you were tired, each unwilling to say so.
Phasma broke the silence. "What's wrong, Y/N?"
“I’m just tired.”
She glared at you. “There’s something else.”
You sighed. "I'm still nervous."
She put her fork down and leaned across the table, her face coming close to yours. "No one has to know about this if you don't want them to.” The look on her face was sincere, her eyes staring into yours, trying to comfort you. “And if anyone says anything, I will kick their ass.”
You smiled slightly and nodded. Her tone was playful, but you knew she meant every word.
Leaning back in her chair, a small smirk crept onto one side of Phasma’s face. She seemed so relaxed, unlike you. “As I said, Ren is the only other soul on this ship that knows my identity. So –”
“And that’s who I’m worried about,” you blurted out.
Phasma laughed. “Don’t worry. Ren won’t say anything. I promise.”
Her laugh caught you off guard. How could Phasma be so confident about this? Maybe it was because she had been here longer than you; she was well established. But she didn’t seem to be worried about anything.
Then it hit you. “He ‘won’t say anything?’ Does – does he already know?”
As if she were pleased with your sleuthing, Phasma flashed a smile. “Ren has been trying to get me to ask you out for months.”
“What?!” you exclaimed, a bit too loudly. If you didn’t want to call attention to your little dinner date, you were doing a bad job. Now it was your turn to lean across the table. Lowering your voice, you whispered now. “Are you kidding me?”
“You should be flattered, Y/N. The Commander thinks highly of you.”
“Well, that’s the first I’ve heard of that.”
“Ren is no good with words, if you couldn’t tell. You have come up in our conversations, though. Quite often, actually.”
“Wait, are you his friend? Does Ren have friends?”
“He’s like the little brother I never wanted. So I guess you could say I’m his friend. His only friend.” She chuckled. Stars, how your heart melted every time she smiled.
You slightly smiled back. That fact made you feel a little better.
As the hall began to clear, you sat in silence, trying to process your newly gained intel, while Phasma unknowingly admired you from across the table.
“Y/N?”
“Hm?” You looked up out of your daze.
“You’re tired aren’t you?”
You hesitated to answer. “Stars, am I.”
“Let’s go, then. A general needs her rest.”
“No!” you protested. “I’m fine. I want to spend time with –.” A betraying yawn interrupted you.
Phasma shot a glare you way, her eyebrows raised. “Come on. I’ll walk you to your quarters.”
Stubbornly, you remained seated, determined to continue the dinner, though you’d finished eating long ago. The hall was empty now.
Phasma stood up and grabbed your arm, pulling you up from your seat. She held onto your arm even after you stood up, keeping you close. Her grip was tight, but affectionately so. You looked up at her, thinking she had something to say, but she just stood there, silently, staring back at you. To anyone else this would be intimidating, but you appreciated it. Your entire body tensed, and you felt feverish.
“You’re blushing again.”
Quickly, you broke from Phasma’s grasp and strode away.
She caught up with you down the hall and the two of you walked for a bit in silence.
Though she was out of uniform, you both held a commanding presence over the hallway, chins held high, arms dutifully places behind your backs. The few troopers that walked by greeted you accordingly, paying no mind to the incognito captain. She watched your face during the encounters. You were always so gracious, but professional. She loved to watch you work; it made her chest feel a certain way. Something she was unsure she could even feel until she saw you. It made her proud, almost, to be in the presence of another woman, another strong woman, unafraid of power.
Phasma spoke up through a grin. “I personally don’t think it would be so bad if everyone knew about us.”
She paused, waiting for a response from you. You, however, unsure of how to respond, continued walking, only glancing up at her. You swallowed through a lump in your throat.
“We would make a nice power couple,” Phasma finished.
You stopped walking. “Couple?”
Phasma turned around, realizing you weren’t next to her anymore, and strode over hastily. As confident as she appeared, she was truly afraid to push you away. “I apologize. I shouldn’t have insinuated that…”
You interrupted her. “No. No, it’s okay.” You put your hand on her arm. “I just didn’t want to get my hopes up. I didn’t know if you liked me that much. Liked me as much as I liked you.”
The last part slipped through your lips before you could even stop yourself, and you immediately felt the flush in your cheeks. The heat reached your ears. This was never going to get any easier.
Phasma placed her hand on your shoulders, looking down into your eyes. “I’m incredibly fond of you, Y/N.” She gently kissed your forehead before turning and continuing down the hall.
“Now let’s get you home. I believe we have a long day tomorrow, General.”
You followed her lead down the hall, only after you were sure your knees wouldn’t give out.
Summary: An early morning encounter with Captain Phasma has you suspicious about her intentions with you.
A/N: This is a fic pairing Captain Phasma with a female reader. This is my first time trying out this pairing, so please let me know how it is, or if there’s anything else I should do differently in the future.

Captain Phasma's regimented schedule had her up before the rest of the base. Her everyday ritual had her awake promptly at 4am when she began to ready herself, getting dressed and musing over the day's work. She enjoyed the quiet and not having to hear the bustle of the others on the ship moving around. If she was running early, she'd even disassemble and reassemble her blaster, just for practice.
Polishing her helmet, her head snapped towards the door, her blonde hair falling into her face. Footsteps. She heard footsteps in the hallway at this ungodly hour. She placed her helmet down and swept her hair behind her ear as she approached the door, leaning over to shorten herself and look through the peephole.
She waited as the noise got closer, impatiently anticipating the figure whose boots were echoing down the hall.
As the image came into view, Phasma held her breath. "Y/N," she whispered as she stood up to collect herself.
Her thoughts raced quickly. The first time she saw you from across the mess hall, she knew you were different. She knew you were like her. Ever since then she had always tried to catch glimpses of you wherever she could. Eventually, the two of you had interacted every so often, relaying plans and bits of information the higher your rank became. She admired your professionalism that had mirrored her own, but always noticed how friendly you were with her, opposed to others on the ship. How quickly you had risen though the ranks had only further piqued her interests.
Just the other day, Phasma had managed to make you laugh after she felt confident enough to make a joke in your presence. She was thankful for the helmet that day, relieved you couldn't see how flush she had become. As much as it went against everything she knew, she wanted more than a formal, professional relationship. And she swore you did too. Now was her chance.
Your heavy footsteps echoed through the sleek, empty hallway. It was early, but you were wide awake and ready for the day. It was your first day at your new position – General. Stars, you loved how it sounded. You had been generously granted the position after your predecessor had, frankly, made a few missteps.
And this promotion came with the obvious perks, but you were keen on the one you could flaunt immediately. You had a brand new uniform. The charcoal color was much more flattering on you than your old, teal uniform had been.
And the boots. Your old ones had become worn down, and you hadn’t bothered to trade them out. But if these new ones weren’t the best. In combination with the new pants, they made your ass look great. As the boots clipped along the hallway, you felt in charge. Powerful. You walked rhythmically, your chin raised slightly and your hands clasped behind your back.
A door down the hallway behind you swished open and slammed shut, rather quickly, interrupting your peaceful train of though. You rolled your eyes. You were not prepared to deal with anyone just yet this morning.
Continuing to walk down the hallway, you suddenly heard footsteps synching with yours, not getting any quieter. You decided to slow down, the second set of footsteps mimicking your pace yet again.
You sighed, growing agitated, and stopped in the middle of the otherwise deserted hallway. The footsteps proceeded briefly, then stopped.
Now, there was a looming presence towering behind you, and you could only imagine it to be one of two people on the ship.
“Can I help –,” you began, interrupted by your hat being knocked off of your head.
A groan escaped your lips, whether you meant it to or not. The morning had been going so smoothly until this point, and you would make sure someone would pay for this.
As you bent over to pick up your hat, a loose strand of hair fell into your face. You had worked so hard on your hair this morning, making sure it was in the perfect bun, sleek and straight. You had to look perfect. You were a General now – a General. Frustrated did not begin to explain how you felt now. You took one last deep breath before turning to face the unlucky individual who had dared to cross your path.
Immediately you felt your face flush and raised your hand in an attempt to wipe the embarrassment away. The mirrored chrome figure towered over you. Your heart fluttered, then sank. This was not the Commander, as you had originally suspected.
“Nice hat,” the accented, metallic voice stated. The voice modulator tried its best to translate the chuckle that followed.
You straightened your posture, as if to make up for your shortened stature. “Captain, that was incredibly inappropriate,” you retorted, pursing your lips to hold back a smile.
Captain Phasma’s shoulders dropped and her features twisted under her mask. This wasn't the friendly woman she had recently grown to like, the person she finally convinced herself to flirt with now.
The two of you stood there quietly as seconds passed, the hallway eerily quiet. “I – my apologies, Y/N.”
“It’s General, now, Captain,” you simply stated back. You bit the inside of your cheek, wanting to take back your words. “Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to freshen up.” You dramatically gestured with your hat, nearly cringing at how you had become so stern in your nervous state. You needed to bail. And quickly.
As you turned on your heel to leave, Phasma's gloved hand grabbed your shoulder. Her touch made your heart sink again.
Phasma removed her hand as soon as she saw your eyes looking for hers in her visor. She couldn't quite read your expression, but she wouldn't give up now. She pointed behind her and down the hallway. “Follow me.”
As much as you knew you should protest, you didn’t, and once she turned her back to walk down the hallway, you finally smiled.
Her body, as tall and broad as it appeared in the armor, seemingly floated down the hall. You weren't sure you had ever recognized how gracefully she moved before.
She stopped suddenly and turned around to face you. As she removed her helmet, her short white hair flowed down around her face. Finally, you got to look into those deep blue-gray eyes. You had only seen her once before without her helmet – in the training room showers, where you had obviously avoided any form of eye contact. And it surprised you how easily she removed her helmet in your presence now. You began to understand what was happening, and you weren't sure how to feel about it.
Phasma was flirting with you.
She punched in a code to the room and opened the door before you realized where you were.
“Excuse me, Captain. Your quarters?”
Phasma entered her room and placed her helmet on her desk, while you shyly stayed out in the hall, frozen from your recent revelation.
“You needed to freshen up, no?” She seemed so casual, comfortable. You envied her.
You took in a shaky breath and looked each way down the hall, confirming it was still deserted. Looking back into Phasma's room, your eyes met. She lightly smiled and waved her arm to invite you in.
"I suppose."
She closed the door behind you as you stepped in. The distance between the two of you was almost nonexistent, her having situated herself between you and the door. She pointed over your shoulder, her shiny arm passing right by your face.
"Bathroom is in the back." You both knew where the bathroom was, the living quarters on the ship all having the same layout. But Phasma couldn't help nearly putting her arm around you.
You moved quickly to the bathroom, not wanting to overstay your welcome, and also not wanting her to see the way your cheeks were blushing. You closed the door behind you when you realized she had been following you. You needed a moment. Or two.
You let out a deep sigh as your back slammed against the door. The metal was frigid against your back, even through your uniform shirt. Taking a few more deep breaths, you tried to calm yourself. How had you become so flustered so quickly? It had been ages since you felt this way about anyone. Surely no one on the base had ever given you this much trouble. Until recently, you hadn't even paid much attention to the Captain, but you had begun to be increasingly more friendly with her as of late, and she with you. Maybe it wasn't just female camaraderie driving this relationship. The thought of mutual attraction made you panic even more.
You distracted yourself with fixing your hair, replacing your hat to its rightful place and pinning the loose ends underneath, making sure your bun was secure. The reflection in the mirror looked terrified, so you forced yourself to soften your features and look amicable, having recalled your rather harsh behavior in the hallway minutes ago. Even under your makeup, your face was still beet red, and you exited the bathroom against your better judgment.
Phasma was leaning against the wall with her arms crossed above her chest, but you walked right past her not being able to face her and headed for the door.
"Y/N," Phasma called out.
You turned to face her, the heat building up in your cheeks again. You much preferred the sound of her voice saying your name, regretting correcting her earlier. You knew Phasma was too intelligent to have forgotten your rank already. No, this was personal.
You raised your eyebrows waiting for what she had to say, feigning disinterest, but knowing your complexion was likely betraying you.
She approached you, stopping a few feet away. "I would quite like it if you accompanied me to dinner tonight."
Your lips parted as your mouth fell open.
"Are you asking me on a date, Captain?" You tried to maintain a professional conversation, but you felt the corner of your lips upturn. You couldn't hide it anymore.
"If it's alright with you, then yes, I believe I am."
The two of you stood in silence so quiet you wondered if she could hear your heart beating out of your chest.
"I'd like that," you managed to say with a shaky voice.
Phasma beamed, her pearly smile lighting up her face.
You looked down quickly, distracting yourself with your new boots. "I should go now." You turned towards the door. "Thanks for the hospitality."
Phasma hurriedly ran past you to open the door. She tried to make a straight face, but the smile crept back. "My pleasure." She gave you one last smirk before replacing her helmet. Even with her face obscured, she still appeared giddy. Your heart skipped a beat knowing you were the reason she was like that.
As the door opened, a pair of troopers passed, and you froze where you stood. Sensing your nervousness, she gently nudged you into the hall and quickly shut the door behind the two of you. Her masked head gave you a nod, then she proceeded down the hall opposite the troopers as if nothing had happened.
You mindlessly followed the troopers the opposite way, trying to determine what had just happened. You had a date. With Captain Phasma. Your confident demeanor had diminished almost instantly; she had reduced you to a bundle of nerves. Your boots drug along the hallway, unsure of how you were even walking at this point.
“A word, General?” Phasma questioned. She spoke up from a length down the hall, as if she hadn't just spoken to you.
What could she have forgotten? you thought.
You stopped and turned your head to the side, body still facing down the hall, trying your best to be casual, unsure if you could even look at her again just yet. “Yes, Captain?”
Out of the corner of your eye, the blurry silver figure approached. Phasma paused and removed her helmet swiftly, the troopers having safely turned the corner out of sight. You stood still.
You felt warm breath on your neck. “Your ass looks great, by the way.”
A shiver went down your spine as you stood up straight and closed your eyes.
Phasma flipped her hair before replacing her helmet. “General.” You swore you heard a modulated chuckle from underneath the mask.
