I thought the exact same thing. The only reason Germany went to such an extent was bc they were being pressured by the entire world. The U.S. Isn’t being pressured by anyone.
i wouldn’t say by the entire world, but definitely by the countries that had the most power at the time, i mean they were practically forced to sign those peace treaties. can you imagine if the US was forced to take responsibility for racially profiling muslims, killing innocent black civilians, rikers island, guantanamo bay etc.?
