So funnily enough, when I added those two to my island, Yuri developped a crush on Mer first, but a series of random events lead to him getting over it really quickly so I've just been saying he was briefly possessed by the spirit of his 2022 incarnation and forgot all about it

Anyway after that I was able to get Mer to crush on him first, as it should be lmao
