phichimetti week day 3: summer

phichit travels to switzerland to visit chris and his family. chris insists no trip to switzerland is complete without a hike, and so they go. they get to the top hours later, sweaty and exhausted and triumphant, and the view is so beautiful that phichit can’t help but stare (chris stares too, only--he’s staring at phichit)

Phichimetti Week Day 1 - Firsts (mostly first kiss here)

Yuuri and Viktor’s wedding was hard to plan - weddings always are - but Phichit and Chris did exceedingly well and got closer to each other along the way

It had been a beautiful ceremony, a great party afterwards.

As it should have been, after months of planning and assuaging Yuuri's bouts of anxiety, dealing with Viktor's boundless enthusiasm and the good-natured bumbling of family and friends.

Phichit let himself fall onto a delicate white chair and looked around, taking in the obvious signs that the party was about to outlive itself. An almost empty buffet – and who had eaten all those mounds of food? Garlands were coming loose all around the tent and the floor was littered with the sad remnants of burst balloons and wilting flower petals. The thought that someone would have to clean it all up the next day was rather unpleasant, and he pushed it aside hurriedly.

It was past midnight and many guests had already withdrawn to their own or other's beds, or else simply passed out somewhere.

The happy newly-weds were sitting on a bench just outside the tent, Yuuri on Viktor's lap, just looking at each other, talking softly, kissing every now and then. It was so tender, so private, that Phichit looked away quickly, not wanting to pry.

Music was still playing, though, and a good few people were still dancing, among them Sara and Mila, as well as the triplets, who'd thoroughly abused the occasion to stay up way past their bedtime, and were getting in all the dancers' ways quite happily.

Phichit smiled at them and took a few more pictures, then looked through the ones he'd taken throughout the day.

“Checking instagram?” came a teasing, very familiar voice from behind him.

Chris looked over his shoulder and Phichit held up his phone for him to see better.

“I bet they're at least as good as the hired photographer's,” he said, making Phichit laugh.

“You're an awful flatterer.”

“Hey! I happen to be an excellent flatterer.”

Phichit laughed again, then put his phone away.

“Care to dance?”

The words took him by surprise, and he turned around to face his friend. He looked up into the handsome, smiling face, and nodded, taking the hand extended to him.

“We've both been busy all day. And the days before. Are you as relieved as I am?” he asked Chris as they walked to the centre of the tent.

“Relieved, but a little melancholy, too.”

Phichit nodded, he knew exactly what Chris meant and wondered if the happy couple felt the same way.

“It was stressful, but I enjoyed planning it all together with you,” Chris added, giving him a gentle smile.

Phichit beamed, remembering so many calls, messages, facetime sessions.

“So did I. And we did rather well.”

“We did, didn't we? Maybe we ought to become wedding planners.” Chris raised his eyebrows and Phichit groaned.

“Too stressful. I'd rather take a GPF over this any day.”

The moment they were ready to start dancing, the song ended, and they stood there a tad awkwardly before the next song started and Phichit made a face.

“One of Viktor's choices,” Chris said with a grin, pulling an unresisting Phichit closer as Give me Love started playing.

“Of course. It's so corny.”

It was not the kind of song for a friendly dance. It was the kind of song you danced to when there were butterflies on your stomach and you had to turn your pelvis to avoid severe embarrassment.

The latter wasn't an issue at the moment, but the first, oddly enough...

Phichit looked up at Chris a little helplessly, but Chris just chuckled and shrugged.

“Could be worse. Could be The Power of Love.”

They didn't stop, though. Chris pulled him a little closer yet and Phichit put his cheek against Chris' shoulder. Even after a long, warm summer day in Hasetsu, Chris smelled nice, like the expensive perfume he could just as well have modelled for. And Phichit's heart was beating faster all of a sudden, face growing hot. They swayed to the song for a while, Phichit trying to sort out his feelings, the sudden thought that Chris' arms were a very nice place and he'd quite like to spend a lot more time in them.

“Petit?”

And he really liked it when Chris called him that.

Shia.

He looked up and found Chris looking back at him with an unusually serious expression. A hand that had hitherto rested chastely on his back was lifted, and Chris cupped his cheek.

“Chris?”

“May I kiss you?”

Something inside his chest felt like bursting at the words, but he just nodded and stood on tip toe.

Gentle fingers caressed his face, and then there were warm, soft lips on his. He sighed into the kiss, deepening it with a gentle swipe of his tongue. The hand that wasn't stroking his cheek gripped his waist a little tighter, and Chris tongue traced Phichit's lips, his own tongue.

They broke apart at the sound of a  cat call and sudden wild applause, looking around for the culprits.

The cat call had obviously been Mila, while the applause had come from the triplets. Sara was flashing them a thumbs up, and at the sudden noise, the happy couple had come looking as well. Phichit wanted nothing more than drag Chris out of the tent and go somewhere quiet, to talk, and maybe kiss some more. Or a lot more.

“Want to go for a walk? It's too hot in here,” Chris said nonchalantly, still holding onto his waist.

“Yes please, let's.”

He looked back briefly, and Yuuri cast him a warm smile he returned, before they stepped out into the night.

They walked away from the party, along the beach, in silence, but still holding hands.

It was almost too cheesy, Phichit thought, but admittedly, it was also perfect.

Eventually he broke the silence.

“Was that a spur of the moment thing?”

Chris looked at him, shook his head, seemed to think for a moment, then shrugged.

“I didn't plan the slow dancing and kissing part, but I've been hoping for a while that...”

His voice trailed off.

“So there may be more kisses in the future?”

Chris grinned.

“There can be more kisses right now.”

He pulled Phichit close, but Phichit had other plans and dragged him down onto the sand with him, straddling his lap.

“My, my, Petit...” Chris cupped his face again and playfully tugged on Phichit's bottom lip with his teeth, before Phichit claimed his mouth fiercely.

“I've got half the beach in my shoes.”

“Same.” Phichit beamed happily as Chris took off his jacket and hung it over the back of a chair. “Worth it, though.

His hands were on Chris' chest the moment the shirt came undone, tracing the outlines of very well-developed muscles in admiration and a hint of envy.

“Phichit?”

He was surprised by the intense, serious look Chris was giving him once more. He was not used to Chris being serious at all.

“What's with that look?” he asked, poking Chris' cheek gently.

“I don't want this to be just – a fuck.”

Phichit blushed, but smiled.

“Well, the tent and decorations are mostly still up, a lot of our friends are here, we could have another ceremony in the morning.”

It made Chris laugh, and Phichit was happy that he'd been able to lighten the mood.

“Seriously, though, I like you a lot, Chris. And I don't do casual, I get attached and you'll never get rid of me again. Sounds good?”

He winked and Chris smiled, then kissed his forehead.

“Sounds perfect.”

“Besides, we've kissed in front of all our friends, that means we're basically engaged, anyway.”

“Oh?” Chris cocked an eyebrow.

“Yep.”

“Well, then.”

He let Chris pull him over to the bed and sat on his lap once more.

“Also...”

“Yes?”

Phichit grimaced a little and and had to stifle a yawn.

“I may be too tired for a fuck.”

Chris just chortled and pressed their foreheads together.

“To be honest, I am quite winded, too. It was a long day.”

“Make out, cuddle, sleep?”

Chris just pulled him down and close, kissing him softly.

“Sounds wonderful.”

chris, phichit, and snapshots of an improbable romance

phichitmetti week - day 4 - AUs: soulmates - phichit has never really thought much about soulmates in general, much less his own. until one day, yuuri makes him think about it, and about whether chris might or might not be his.

a/n: the only au thing about it is the whole soulmates thing, other than that, it can be read as just another part of the fic so far. the soulmate thing won’t appear in the next instalments.

he’s never really thought much of the little symbol on his hip, the little green thing the size of his thumbprint that looks like a mountain, or the great buddha in the ang thong province. it’s just there, like his birthmarks on his shoulder and on his thigh.

sure, he’s always known what it meant, that somewhere out there in the world, there is a person solely for him, that theoretically completes him like no one else in the world. he knows that that person has an identical mark on their own hip.

and quite honestly, as much as he loves a good romance, he’s always thought he has better things to do with his life than wait around or go in search for that so called other half. there are awesome photos to take, there are amazing programs to skate, there are medals to win and friends to have fun with and a name to bring to his country’s figure skating scene.

if love comes along the way, so be it, he’ll welcome it. but until then, he has better things to do.

he and chris have been more or less going out for almost a year, though it’s mostly been dates and heavy make-outs and teasing kisses and the rare touches, but never more than that, on the rare occasions they could see each other in person, and honestly phichit has not once thought about the whole soulmate thing, has been enjoying their relationship too much to wonder about such a pesky little thing.

it’s not until the four continents championships in south korea that he gives it any thought. he’s having drinks with yuuri the day before the competition, just the two of them. he’s a little giddy to skate and hopefully win, a lot giddy because chris had promised to come spend the week with him, although he should be training for worlds.

(chris had said he wants to spend his birthday with him – and their friends, but mostly him – so phichit wasn’t going to argue against it too much.)

‘what do you mean you’ve found your soulmate??’ they hear suddenly, high-pitched and loud, and both their heads snap towards the table where two girls (phichit thinks they’re ice dancers, but he’s not sure) talk in loud whispers. one of them is bright red, looking around, making sure they’re not bothering anyone, while the other is trying to get her to spill the details.

yuuri chuckles fondly at them, which, of course, catches phichit’s attention.

‘don’t tell me you’re a sucker for the whole soulmate thing, yuuri,’ he says, though he more or less knows the answer to that. yuuri looks pointedly at the glass of orange juice, cheeks red, and doesn’t say anything. phichit rolls his eyes. ‘of course you do. i forgot, you’ve always wondered what it would be like to have victor as your soulmate.’

yuuri gets even redder at that. phichit raises an eyebrow.

‘umm…’ he says, ‘actually, i don’t have to wonder anymore.’

and of course yuuri kept something as big as this from him. he could strangle his best friend sometimes. ‘you mean to tell me you found out victor’s actually your soulmate and you didn’t tell me about it???’

‘well, you never seemed interested in the whole notion of it, so i figured you wouldn’t care about it one way or another,’ he defends himself, and, well, he kind of has a point. still.

‘so he has the same gold half-snowflake just over his butt like you do?’

yuuri just nods, and sips from his drink. they fall into a companionable silence for a few minutes, until yuuri takes a deep breath, and phichit has to brace himself.

‘what about you?’ yuuri asks, ‘is chris…?’

he doesn’t continue, but phichit knows exactly what he means. he shrugs, his chin propped in his palm, and stirring his tea lazily.

‘no idea,’ he says, ‘i mean, i haven’t seen chris that naked yet - shocking, i know – so i haven’t been able to check. and it’s not like it’s something you can just ask a person.’ he shurgs again. ‘maybe he is, maybe he isn’t. but i’d rather that not be an influence over what we have right now. if we are, we’ll know eventually.’

that is what he says to yuuri, but after that conversation, he can’t stop thinking about it, the ‘what if’ of it.

he thinks about the pros of it and the cons, and about how he can find out without outright asking about chris’ mark. about whether he’ll be disappointed if they aren’t, or if he will be if they are.

he keeps his ruminations to himself for a while, through an afternoon practice and a briefing with celestino, through meeting up with chris, and then dinner with him and yuuri and victor, through a long, thorough, post-dinner ‘missed you’ make-out session.

it’s chris who, eventually, asks what’s got him so distracted. (phichit hadn’t even noticed he was distracted.)

phichit bites his lower lip, and looks down and to the side. his perch in chris’ lap, though, means the older man can easily lift his chin up, so that their eyes can meet.

‘come now, when have you ever bashful with me? tell me what’s wrong? please?’

his voice is soft, gentle, and it drives all the fear phichit didn’t know he’s been having. he slumps forward, rests his forehead on chris’ shoulder. lets out a little laugh.

‘you’ll think it’s stupid,’ he says.

‘try me.’

phichit sighs, and decides to say screw it and get on with it.

‘i was talking with yuuri today at lunch,’ he starts. for a second, he doesn’t know how to continue, before deciding to just say it as simply as possible. ‘the topic of soulmates came up. did you know yuuri and victor are soulmates? i suspected it, but yuuri only told me today, the rat! i mean, what kind of man keeps something like that from his best friend? it’s rude-‘

‘phichit.’

it’s not until chris says his name that he realizes he’s rambling. he takes another deep breath. holds it. then.

‘yuuri asked if you and i are…’ and he can’t finish it, for some reason, though he’s sure chris knows what he means.

he does.

‘that never came up, it’s true,’ chris says lightly, though not jokingly. then, in a tone that phichit would call tentative if he didn’t know chris, he asks, ‘do you want to see my mark?’

phichti bites his lip again (he’s been doing that a lot lately, he needs to stop or he’ll ruin it), and slowly, hesitantly, nods his head. moment of truth, either they are or they aren’t.

‘move back a little,’ chris tell him, and phichit moves to sit closer to his knees rather than chest to chest as they’ve been. his heart is beating whildly in his chest, the anticipation building.

(for a few seconds, he almost wants to shut his eyes.

he doesn’t.)

and then chris raises his t-shirt a little and reaches for the waistband of his boxers and phichit’s world narrows to a small patch of skin, right under chris’ hipbone.

and to the small, green shape that might look like a mountain, might look like a buddha statue.

a sobbing laugh escapes his throat before he even realizes, and he leans forward, wraps his arms around chris’ neck and kisses him silly.

when he finally pulls back, both of them breathless and smiling like idiots, he pulls the side of his own shorts down, enough for his own mark to become visible, and he looks up at chris.

‘i guess that answers that, huh?’ he says, grinning from ear to ear. there;s something like relief coursing through his veins. he reaches a hand forward, wanting to touch the mark, hesitating at the last second. ‘can i?’ he asks, and chris takes his hand and presses it to his hip. touches phichit’s own mark with his other hand.

and it’s like a lightning bolt, like the eye of a hurricane, like the first breath of air after almost drowning.

‘soulmates, huh?’ says chris.

‘soulmates.’

‘you okay with that?’

‘more than.’ and he finds that he means it.

‘good.’

‘perfect.’

(he can’t wait to tell yuuri about it.)

I tried to write something simple just to take part of all this love, even when I’m really bad, but I enjoyed too much to at least try it. And thank you so much for letting me share those weird ideas.

Phichimetti Week Day #6 - Pining

Another short little drabble for today!  I’m loving all of the fics that are floating around here.  If I haven’t given you a heart or a reblog, please, please, please send your stuff my way.  I want to enjoy all of it!

Pairing: Phichit/Christophe (of course)

Prompt: Pining

“I didn’t realize that you were so close to Chris,” Viktor said.  He smiled.  “If I had known, I would’ve just asked you to pass on the invitation for us.”

“Close?  What are you talking about?” Phichit stared at his computer monitor in confusion.  

“Phichit...you just spent the last 10 minutes telling me stories about the things you talk about with Chris and the fun you have with each other over social media,” Yuuri pointed out.

Phichit felt his face getting red.  “And the flirting war is starting it’s own hashtag on Twitter,” Viktor said, showing his phone screen.  

“I...I…”

The call went on a bit more and Phichit answered robotically.  The screen went black and Phichit was left with a confusing mess of thoughts that seemed at war with each other.  He pulled out his phone and started looking through his Twitter feed.  Just earlier that day, he and Chris had been bantering about their recent competition costumes.  They had evolved into finding more and more strange costumes in an effort to out sexy each other.  

Cute emoji’s and flirting speckled it’s way into every conversation now, unlike how he spoke with anyone else.  Even Leo and Guang Hong never managed to bring out that side of him.  Chris was a natural flirt though.  It was just how he was with everyone.  So Phichit had responded in kind.  Hadn’t he?

Viktor and Yuuri’s words hovered over him like a dark cloud.  Phichit never addressed the notion of what he and Chris were doing.  There were thousands of miles between them, and competitions were still months away, ensuring they wouldn’t see each other face to face for a long while.  What was Phichit doing even toying with the notion that he might actually have a THING for Christophe Giacometti?

His phone chimed with a private message from Christophe.  It was a photo of Christophe on his bed with his cat.  They looked cozy and content curled together.  It wasn’t provocative or even remotely suggestive.  But his heart was suddenly pounding in his chest and he felt a warmth spill over inside of him.  

Bonne nuit.  

The clock beside Phichit did read his usual sleep time and this was his usual final message for the day from Chris.  He usually responded with a picture of his hamsters or a quick selfie from bed.  Today however, Phichit plugged in his phone and turned off all the lights.  He didn’t know if he would sleep at all, not with this weighing down on him.  How was he supposed to figure out what to do from here?
