Drowning in the sea of stars
Lost in a galaxy of cocktail bars
Blinded by the neon lights
I lie awake and say your name into the night

The short film Curmudgeons has no homophobia as far as I recall and has cute old gays with potty mouths one of which is played by Danny Devito.

For the ask thingy, I associate you w Nick Cave, Tom Waits, toblerones and Slavness (is that a word?).
I am honestly unsure if it's slavness or slavicness, it's easier in croatian tbh, but I got you, thank you, Kieran, I love you!!!

1,7,18 an 27 for the ask game :D
1: How did you choose your name? Quickly; I tried on at most two other names before I tried “Alesha” and knew who I was. (Like most trans details, it’s significant: I’m a woman not because I was born as one or pass as one, but because I’ll do what I must to be seen as one.)
7: What is your favorite part of being transgender? “Not being a straight cis guy.” It sounds trite and tautological but I’m genuinely blessed to be out of that tomb.
18: How does your family feel about your trans identity? Mom is coming to terms with it, slowly but in good faith. My sister was unphased. I’ll buy a Ouija board and come out to Dad this Halloween or something. Granny will get the news in a brighter light and on a different shore. Mom’s live-in renters should get the news this week. The rest of the family will get the news before the end of July.
27: What do you do to validate yourself? Wardrobe planning. This is kinda complex (and I’ll explain it more answering @opabinia-regalis) but at my age I’m anticipating a specific kind of invalidation and plan to preempt it by using my wardrobe to embody stylistic continuity. (Sorry if this seems like word salad; I’ll explain shortly.)
@philchevron replied to your post “Pretty sure I’ve got the best girlfriend ever tbh”
