but here... I see people every day who still believe in free will.
they don't know any better.
That's probably how Carly felt
(I found it weird that there was barely anyone talking about this scene)
I see we all made it.
Let's begin.
gonna try to articulate this best i can but i love the idea of philip and trevor having the capacity to understand each other more than anyone else on the team could with either of them. philip being a historian and trevor having lived lifetimes both hold more knowledge than any one person should be saddled with. either despite that or because of it they care so much more. its clear in the show that out of everyone those two love the whole world on a much larger scale, yeah sure everyone has their little moment of wow good food fresh water yippee but its so much bigger than that for them. philip saves everyone he can and mourns for everyone he cant even when hes never met them. he cries for the roommate he never knew and the detective who wanted him locked up for manslaughter. trevor sees the beauty in every aspect of nature he doesnt want to pull up dandelions hes having a hard time understanding how one plant is more important than another. when trevor and grace are in the hospital philip is the only one who stays, trevor would do the same. trevor goes with philip to pick up the director approved pills™ and honestly seems to worry the most about his addiction on any emotional level. also this post talks about how hard protocol 5 would be for trevor and i think the same is true for philip in a way. sure maybe he could fall in love but would he ever be able to fully let anyone in when he knows exactly when they'd have to leave? idk im kinda throwin words at a wall here it just seems like they have an innate disconnect from everyone around them due to the massive gap of information. but maybe they could bond over it maybe they could carry that weight together maybe they could have one real connection in eachother.
Literally why does Grant put so much effort into staying with Kat? With the way he constantly gaslights her into believing she’s crazy and with how he literally drugs her whenever he needs her to forget she’s chosen not to be with him, it can’t be love.
Their relationship takes away from the show and his lack of respect for her autonomy makes Grant a worse character every time they show him interacting with her. I want to believe this is all for some commentary about how protocol 2 can lead to creepy obsession with the host’s loved ones, but no one ever calls him out on it
I finished Travelers (Netflix series) some weeks ago and I already liked Philip very strongly, but last night I had a dream where he appeared and it hit me like a fucking truck. I need 10 fanfics about a prohibited relationship with this man filled with yearning and lust and breaking every single protocol. Thank you.
no self, don’t rewatch an entire 3 season tv show with a dead/no fandom just so you can accurately write a post canon long form whump fic that you’ll inevitably abandon after 6 chapters
but philip realising he’s stuck in an abandoned timeline though
stop it
but he knows every tragedy that’s going to happen and has no way to know if he can ever change things for the better now, just that so far theyve only ever made them worse
