It had been quite some time since Zoey could say she frequented at a bar--- back before she was eighteen and legally old enough with a fake I.D.. As soon as she set her mind to school and work the desire to go out every night like she used to faded. Even when she found herself in Ashbourne it had been a while before she got out much--- the only thing which caught her attention was the Black Diamond Club. The first time she went there was work related for suspicious activity, but days afterwards she found herself coming back. She always stayed towards the back of the club, but her interest was piqued. Soon enough she was going back there to ask for a job, and she was more surprised she got it after her audition.
That particular Friday night was surprisingly slow. The club was filled, but not overflowing with the usual crowd who were taking advantage of the fact that they didn’t have to go to work the next morning. Zoey didn’t know if something else was happening in town, but if she learned anything with the couple of years she had been in Ashbourne she knew she’d hear about it sooner or later.
With a sigh the redhead rubbed underneath her eyes, smearing her mascara in the process. She wasn’t finished for the night, but she was happy for her little break before she had to get back on stage. Zoey found a mostly secluded spot at the end of the bar and sat herself down on one of the stools, pulling her hair up in a messy bun in hopes of cooling off. “Just a coke right now, please,” she said to the bartender when they walked up and asked what she wanted.
It didn’t take long for her beverage to get to her, and she was lost in her own little world for a little while. Zoey didn’t even really notice the man who had sat not too far away from her--- that is until she felt someone’s gaze on her which made her look up. “Is there something the matter?” she asked, arching an eyebrow. Zoey hadn’t realized someone could very well be paying attention to the smudge of black underneath her eyes from her makeup she had yet to notice.
